That is the dumbest rule I have ever heard. Like others have said, that will be absolutely impossible to police or punish a university for Joe Blow down the street saying something to a recruit.

What's next? "The NCAA has banned all citizens in the United States for flying flags of their chosen university outside their home fearing it may sway potential high school recruits towards said university. Those universities with representative flags flying will be punished by losing five scholarships per year."

Come on, get real here. How would they ever punish anyone b/c like others have said, all you would have to do is say, "Yeah, I'm a BIG USC fan and I am hounding all sorts of recruits. You name 'em, I've talked to them about coming to USC."

Good point. Potential for vested interest and booster support...I hear. Lame.

I better remove my fighting irish tattoo

The USC boards are saying that Deon has cancelled his visit to USC and has dropped them from consideration. IF true then that is sweet

I read it on another board, but I don't know how reliable board information is.

It's solid. He cancelled his USC visit and he dropped them from consideration. While it's not a done deal yet don't be suprised if he verbals to the Irish come the beginning of Jan.

Well, I will buy the ingredients but I'm not gonna bake the cake just yet. Not because I don't believe you, i'm just waiting so I don't have another prom date incident.

They would have already had Baldwin if it wasn't for test scores.

Missing out on Baldwin really dissapointed me, but if we can get Deion I would feel much better!!!!!!!!! Goodman, Floyd, Walker, and maybe Robinson--Are you kidding me? W/ the young guys we already have! I still think Grimes and West can be solid third receivers like they were w/ the Shark, and Rhema. Kinda like Troy Brown-Pats, and Shelton for the Irish a couple years back, we just need some threats on the outside, and I think we have some young ones and are adding some more!

I guess the reason that his USC visit was cancelled is because of a scheduling problem and that USC is still very much in the race.

The scheduling problem I heard was he has a basketball tournament this weekend. But he would have known about the potential conflict with his basketball schedule when he scheduled the visit. I don't think that's the real reason. At least I don't want to believe that as the reason. wink wink.

Those seem to be the same thoughts of most of the people out there.

Thats great that USC is possibly out but I read on ESPN.com after he took his offical visit that he wasnt all about the surroundings of South Bend and the climate. Are we really sitting well with this kid eventhough it sounds like Florida State is the favorite? I really dont believe were going to land Walker. I think our best bet is Robinson.

Also, eventhough Baldwin was considering Notre Dame, it sounds like he wouldnt of went to the Irish even if his test scores were good enough. My dad works with a guy that knows the Baldwin family very well and it sounds like he wouldnt want to leave home so Pitt is most likely where he is going.

Welcome to Irish Envy. I hate to tell you this but you're wrong pretty much all the way around. First of all that info on ESPN.com was from WeAreSC which is basically getting a reputation for being trash. Deion saw what they wrote and went out of his way to text other Irish sites to let them know that they were wrong and he was badly misquoted. ND is sitting very well with him and FSu is not the leader, not even close. Although G.Robinson probably is ND's best chance so you're right about that, but I think it's very likely that ND will get both.

As far as Baldwin goes, he was already a silent verbal to ND before there was a problem with his ACT score, and that's why the Irish were dropped. That's something that I've heard from several sources. I had a little more to say about it in the silent verbal thread in the recruiting forum.

Thanks for clearing that up. I forgot that ESPN.com was part of the WeAreSC. It be nice to land both Walker and Robinson. I had heard Baldwin like Notre Dame but from what I heard he was kind of stay close to home guy but that would of been sweet if he could of went there.

Baldwin loved Notre Dame and he was 100% Irish until admissions told him his ACT score was not good enough. That's the truth.

Also, this thread is about Deion Walker, not Jonathan Baldwin and not even about Gerrell Robinson. It is about Deion Walker. Please stop cross-posting. Thank you.

It's ok, it's not like it got carried away and completely hijacked. It did stay focused on the WRs. He's new too so it's not like he didn't know better.

As long as he announces and N.D. comes out of his mouth, I don't care what month it is.

So is Walker announcing December or in January? Ive heard both, but most say that he is announcing january.

He's planning on announcing at the All-Star that he's playing which takes place in early Jan, but he will have already decided before that and will have informed all the coaches.

Is it wrong to go to PSU's and FSU's boards and laugh at them because they think it's a PSU/FSU battle for Deion with SC as a longshot third and they don't even realize ND is in the race?

I hope they don't find out for the next month because I want to see their meltdown if he were to pick the Irish in about a month.
