Walker was on campus today for a visit looking to add the Irish to an already impressive list of offers. I'm unsure of how interested Deion is in Notre Dame as he has been on many visits this summer including a stop by Ann Arbor yesterday.

In any case, with Butler's impending decision look for Notre Dame to start extending offers to prospects such as Walker or Tate if things do not pan out with Butler.

Apparently he left without an offer.

Good info, FI. My amateur impression is that the staff feels reasonably confident about the receivers on the board right now and Walker, like Tate, might not see anything if at all until sometime next week when Butler announces.

There's a good free article on him at Scout.com. Apparently the visit was pretty good. He wants to take an official

B&G still has him listed as interested, so don't get your hopes up on the offer front.

i think deion would be the next one to get offered if we do not get butler, which i think we have a slight chance unlike many others. I know many people think it is Chris Harper, but i dont think we will have a very good chance with him. Again, this is just all my opinion and i could be totally wrong.

Main article on Rivals is saying his visit exceeded expectations. Anyone want to paraphrase what the article said for us non-members?

Who are the favorites for this guy?

The Baldwin situation is perplexing. I think that when we here Butler has chosen Free Shoes U, then we offer Walker. Between Baldwin and Walker I say we at least have a shot at one or the other. Keep the ND cheese bus rollin' boys!

Deion said the visit was really good, and that it caught him off guard because he didn't think it would be as good as it turned out to be.

He spent most of his time on campus with Ron Powlus who he usually texts with a few times a week. While he was on campus he also met with Rob Ianello, Mendoza, and Cowin Brown, although he didn't really speak to them that much.

While ND talked to him about an offer, he still doesn't have one yet, although Powlus told him that the whole staff would have to meet together, and then they would get back to him which should be soon.

Apparently Deion's dad loved the trip and said ND would become one of the favorites if they offered along with USC, Florida, LSU, Penn State and Florida State.

I've also heard that Deion's grades and test scores shouldn't be an issue. I'm guessing he'll be the next one to get an offer when Butler chooses either USC, or FSU.

----Good, but I'm seeing that he already has 4 officials scheduled. I don't think he's coming here unless we were one of his officials. Which we aren't right now.

I hope we offer him, he looks to be pretty good, I don't know, I tend to not like waiting to long for some people only to not have a shot at someone else. Honestly, I'm not overly concerned about it though. CW didn't always a pro-bowl caliber WR in NE, and they still managed to win a lot of ball games, so if we don't land our top prospects, I think we'll be alright.

Even though Weis didn't always have Pro-Bowl caliber receivers, the receivers he had were still pros. I think we need to land two top of the line guys be it Floyd, baldwin, walker, and/or Butler.

From all indications he'll be getting one soon after Butler chooses either FSU, or USC.

If we're fairly sure that Butler is commiting elsewhere, why wouldn't they go ahead and extend an offer? I'm not so sure he would commit anytime soon anyway, so I don't think it would hurt to offer him now. JMO.

Those decisions are made by the whole staff, and CW has the final call on all offers given out. Unfortuantly CW wasn't on campus for Walker, or Harper's visits because he was stuck in MA for his trial.

I know it's the wrong thread, but if we offer Harper, what position do we offer him for? Is he a WR, or would we play him on D? With his size, what is he, 6'2" and about 230, hell that has LB written all over it. Maybe RB, if his speed is anything to write home about. Just wondering.

he has been described as a more athletic greg little so I think they see him at WR. the guy would be a great get with his size and speed, but like everyone says we are still in on about four top fifteen WR's in Floyd, Baldwin, Walker, and Butler .IMO harper is just outside of this talent pool. He appears to have as much raw talent as anyone in the country, but I don't know how much experience he has at WR.

On a side note for everyone scoffing at Butler being on that list, there is a reason that Deion Walker and Harper have not yet been offered. And it is either because:

a)The staff still feels they have a shot at Butler
b)They think they have a very good shot at landing Floyd and Baldwin
c)They think either Walker or Harper would commit on the spot and they are willing to wait on Floyd and Baldwin at the risk of losing Harper and/or Walker.

In any case you can't be to worried about the possibilities at WR this year because all these guys are studs and we will definitely land one and more than likely two of them.

I've heard that CW had a very good conversation with Deion's dad who is also his offensive cord. and apparently the Walker's have been told trhe official written offer is on it's way.

So Walker should be getting his offer early next week. That should just about snuff out any hope for those out there that were hoping for ND landing Butler tomorrow.

stranger things have happened.. The Red Sox have won a WS, Garnett is with the Celtics, and USC still hasn't gotten in trouble with NCAA
