We are losing a lot of production at the end of the season at the DE position. Who do you think will provide the pure pass rushing skills next year with Foskey and Justin A. gone ?

Who do you think will be our lead RB in 2024? WTF knows, we can't even accurately predict who will lead the team in tackles this fall.

i am not talking about accurate predictions, i just wanna have people's opinion on who will likely provide the pass rush on the Dline for next season.

One of the current defensive linemen, or Keeley or M'Pemba or someone else who isn't currently pledged. Or a transfer.

Burnham, Botelho. Liufau would see plenty of time outside in the right setting, especially with ILBs possibly overflowing.

I actually think it's a good question because it will likely determine how good next years defense is.

One of my biggest concerns about the team is that Buch isn't ready this year though the defense is. While Buch will be ready next year but the defense won't be. Not that either will be bad but next years S situation is concerning. And, while I like the young pass rushers, they're likely not quite ready to be "THE" guys in year 2. Breakout players, for sure but 7+ sacks guys, probably not. Likely we just won't be able to field a complete team over these next 2. Have to hope that Buch is as good we advertised and stays 3 years, into 2024, so we can get the next gen of DB's, LB's, and DL up to speed.

To answer the question, I'm with Lax and I think Gobaira is going to be very good. In the Spring, multiple veteran defenders talked about how fast he was. Routinely beating all DL in sprints. I think we start to see some of that as soon as next year. I also think Burnham's home at Vyper is going to be awesome. I also think we start to see that next year. Same goes for Tyson Ford. Though, I will admit I don't think any of the Frosh will be ready to be "THE" guys as Sophomores. That's a tough ask so not a knock on them.

I think we have to hope that Mills plays fantastic football this year but comes back. That would be a huge benefit to next years team. And, I think a lot of the pass rush will be manufactured or a group effort.

It's not a good question if you believe in the limited ability to project athletic production more than a year out with an incomplete roster in hand. What we do know is our offense should continue growing and our LBs and CBs should improve. Our interior DL has enough options that it's not a concern, everything else isn't worth my limited mental capacities. I'll revisit with you guys in 6 months and offer more :)

and nothing against you Jeff, I get the idea. I just had to comment that I'm not going to comment anymore.

I don't think it's out of the question that Justin comes back for a 6th season.

Is Mills a potential three-and-out? It feels like he has barely played. These kids college careers go fast.

FWIW, I think one upside of the NIL situation is it’ll encourage/enable some guys who might go to the draft early to stick around for a fourth year. Probably helped with Foskey.

Yup, one of thing I've heard is that mid-to-late round picks will be more inclined to stick around if they can get an NIL deal "commensurate with their projected NFL compensation." Chance to increase draft stock and get degree while being compensated.

Camp hype on Mills is huge right now. I think if this team is to be as good as they want to be, he's going to have a huge year. Not that I think he goes but I'll bet there is a decision to make.

I love it. The "Next Year is Our Year" kool-aid is already being poured. That's my favorite flavor.

But in actuality, this will become a debate by the end of the year after seeing how well some perform and others dont. Bothelo could become a wildcard here as well. If we can figure out a good way to utilize him.

It's progress. For a long time we were always two years away from it being our year.

Mills and Tyson Ford

Aiden Gobaira I think will be a star sooner rather than later. Exceptionally athletic, just needs to continue to add good weight.

Mills, Gobaira, Burnham, Ford

Onya looks like he could reach out and grab the QB from the line of scrimmage (the invisible line seperatimg the offense and defense).
