I remember this one. They got him out unharmed. Used a dozer or backhoe to enlarge the hole and then dragged him out.

She was huge into rescuing lions and occasionally tigers, and kept a couple as house pets. Griffith has talked about actually having a fully grown lion routinely sleep with her in her bed as a child.
