If he was stupid enough to take the word of a serial liar as Gospel and believed that dominion machines switched votes and Trump would magically be re-instated then that’s on him. “Stop The Steal” was nothing but a grift. Heck, if Trump had a set of balls he would’ve marched with his supporters. Instead, he waddled his fat ass into a fancy car and went back to the WH.
Not true. The SS wouldn’t allow him to go. They refused to take him. Hence the argument in the SUV. They took him back to the WH where he sat in the DR and watched and did nothing to stop it. Breaking his oath as President.

Sounded like she was primarily calling out a crazy sentence of 7 years for what her Dad did. I have no clue what he did or if he deserved his sentence.

"Trump deserves life in prison IF my father is in prison for this long" suddenly translates to Daughter calls for life in prison for Trump. Ughh.

I do wish Trump would get something out of this deal.
Like every parent has said to their kids at one time or another. "If Tommy jumped off a bridge would you do it?" I guess she doesn't understand that these hearings are to Trump what the trials are to the participants.

When all is said and done, Trump will still be playing golf at Mar Largo.

He carried weapons and wore tactical gear into the Capital. He was facing 15 years. Government was seeking a terrorism charge based on evidence but the judge did not agree.
God bless his daughters for sticking up for their father. Evidently his son doesn't feel quite the same. Dad basically insinuated to his kids that he would shoot them if any of them ratted him out. The son ended up reporting him. Such a wonderful Dad.

After the Capitol riot, Reffitt returned to Texas where he told his then-18-year-old son, Jackson, and then-16-year-old daughter Peyton that they would be "traitors" if they turned him in. "If you turn me in, you're a traitor, and you know what happens to traitors … Traitors get shot," he told them, according to an affidavit.

Good for his son. That had to be hard.

Hey, every now and again, people get high on their own supply.

There's a facinating podcast that covers the 1/6 events and everything leading up to it. It's called "Will be Wild". One of the early episodes covers the story of this kid and his father. The dad was a real piece of work. Went full on Qanon. It's crazy how many white dudes in that age range are so susceptible to this type of garbage.

I really think it has something to do with late adoption of the internet. My father in law is the same way. Just believes every obviously bullshit talking point he sees on YouTube. Zero critical thinking. If it's on the internet it must be true.

I'm all in favor of Trump fading away from politics, but not for the likes of Liz Cheney or Kinzinger. Liz posted a picture on Twitter the other day of Kevin Costner wearing a shirt that said "I stand with Liz Cheney." She captioned it "Here's a real man!" Like, sis...I hate to break it to you, but Kevin has long been a part of the Democrat party. If your own party isn't supporting you, but the other one is, you might be standing on the wrong platform if you identify as Republican. As my doctor always says: If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck...

What platform do the Republicans stand on?

Eh, clickbait headline imo. Most other sites have the headline as "suspected Russian asset." He was buddies with the guy he shared the polling data with and at one point had been cleared not to be in league with the Russians. Turned out, of course, they found out later he was with the Russians and Manafort thought it was all business. The sensitive data was polling information in swing states, not that damning and a lot of it was public knowledge. It was stupid, but it wasn't like sharing government secrets.

The guy he shares the data with is a known Russian agent who is also now on the FBI wanted list:

And FTR he shared what the Mueller report called “sensitive internal GOP polling data and campaign strategy” and is by its very nature is NOT public.
The Senate select committee report said they had evidence Kilimjick was actively working for GRU at the time of the hack and leak operation in2016.

He shared multiple tranches of internal data with KK leading up to the election even when he wasn’t a legitimate part of the campaign anymore.
Gotta disagree vociferously with your “take”

He wasn't on the FBI most wanted list at the time though, that was posted 2018, well after the election and after he was vetted and cleared by Ukraine's PM. At the time Kilimnik was a Ukranian political consultant that they were unaware was a Russian asset. Again, it was still stupid, even if the guy was a longtime friend. This is why most reporting websites used the headline "suspected Russian asset" instead of "Manafort admits sharing info with Russians."

The report adds, "Manafort said he had no reason to think Kilimnik was spying for Russia and pointed out that Kilimnik had been vetted and cleared by Yanukovych's staff, stating, "None of us believed KK worked for Russian intelligence."
