Billie Joe Armstrong Plans to ‘Renounce’ His U.S. Citizenship After Roe v. Wade Reversal: ‘F— America’

On stage at the London Stadium, Armstrong slammed the Supreme Court and the U.S. on Friday evening, just hours after the landmark decision, vowing he was moving to the U.K. and shouting “Fuck America.” He also added that he was “renouncing” his American citizenship.

He continued, “There’s too much fucking stupid in the world to go back to that miserable fucking excuse for a country.”

Olivia Rodrigo, who played the Glastonbury festival on the day of the ruling, was joined by British singer Lily Allen on the festival’s stage to dedicate the song “Fuck You” to the five justices who voted in the majority opinion: Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Amy Coney Barrett and Brett Kavanaugh. “We hate you! We hate you.”

Well, as long as they're being adults about it and not pitching a tantrum.

The irony of Repulican-voting Americans using photos of rotting former industrial hubs as reasons to avoid voting Democrat is *chefs kiss* so rich. Might wanna look into that Reagan guy.

The neoliberals that fill the Democratic party are equally culpable for the decay of American industrialization, but damn. Get a clue.

You are a Confederate traitor. Your goal is to destroy this country because you’re butthurt over the Civil War. I don’t care about your thoughts, feelings, or opinions about anything having to do with the United States or it’s politics.
You're relatively new here and it's the end of the month, but are you off your meds? Where the hell do you get the right to throw out these entirely baseless claims? The people who set fire to a federal courthouse...are they traitors or justified protesters because you support their cause?

Nope, completely dem controlled cities. You ruined them. Don't try to shift the blame for your own failed policies. Reagan isn't the cause of high crime, homelessness, and drug addicts shitting in the streets of your cities. You are. Man up, grow up, and face up to what's wrong and who's to blame.

Are people who live in these cities naturally disposed to commit crime and/or do drugs, or are they living in a city where the economy/job opportunities revolved around sectors of the economy that have been eroded by a long line of Republicans and Democrats?

I understand blaming Democrats, and I do. I'm a leftist, not a Democrat. But if you think blame for Democrats mean Republicans are off the hook, you are deluded.

And BTW, our cities don't exist in a vacuum. They are the results of what's happening in our states/country at a higher level.

Violent Portland Pro-Abortion Protesters Destroy, Vandalize Property

Violent Portland Pro-Abortion Protesters Destroy, Vandalize Property

Pro-abortion protesters in Portland, Oregon charged through the city Saturday night, damaging and vandalizing property following the Supreme Court’s reversal of Roe v. Wade.

A crowd of about 60 black-clad marchers stormed downtown Portland, the Hollywood district specifically, “breaking windows and scrawling graffiti,” a Portland police report notes.

“Officers were monitoring the crowd, but did not have resources to intervene in the moment,” it said.

Damage inflicted by the rioters included broken windows on several banks and coffee shops. Protesters also vandalized a pregnancy resource facility, the Mother and Child Education Center, and broke the windows of and spray-painted a van owned by Portland Public Schools.

“If abortions aren’t safe then you aren’t either,” a flier advertising the march read, Oregonlive reported. This slogan has, especially in the last month, been loosely associated with Jane’s Revenge, a collective of pro-abortion terrorists that has allegedly targeted dozens of pro-life pregnancy centers nationwide with firebombing and arson.

Earlier in June, activists claiming to represent Jane’s Revenge promised to unleash a new rampage of violence on clinics providing an alternative to abortion, announcing it “open season.”

On a storage box read the phrase “abort the court,” OregonLive reported.

An aide to Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler called the violence “despicable.”

“We need more police,” he told Oregonlive
.

“Individuals who engage in violent activity or property destruction will be investigated and are subject to arrest and prosecution. . . . We will continue to conduct follow-up investigations, make arrests, and forward cases to the Multnomah County District Attorney for prosecution,” the Portland police department said.

The police said they are also working to contact affected business owners and make an arrangement to protect their storefronts as well as remove the graffiti.

On Friday, the Supreme Court released its decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, overruling the Roe precedent and returning the abortion issue to state legislatures to regulate. Since the outcome, leaders in the pro-life movement have urged vigilance and compassion, encouraging followers to donate to pro-life pregnancy centers now increasingly vulnerable to attack and likely to be overwhelmed by a surge of women seeking prenatal and maternal care.
The irony of the bolded is amusing to say the least.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler pledged the city will divert $12 million from the police bureau and other city departments to directly support communities of color, defund three police units including the gun violence reduction team and ban officers from using chokeholds as part of plans to reform the Portland Police Bureau.

Yes, we need way more people like those hero cops in Uvalde to make this country a better place to live.

I guess they didn't have the ability to intervene either... or didn't want to. Still TBD...

For sure. Why fund police at all. People can police themselves. Just in case another Uvalde happens we can’t risk the optics of bad police so if we get rid of them entirely or just drastically defund them there won’t be any expectations or at least drastically lowered expectations so we aren’t sorely disappointed in the outcome…

"It's a sad day for the court and for the country. The court has done what it has never done before: expressly take away a constitutional right that is so fundamental to so many Americans." - Joe Biden

Really?

First, where in the Constitution is abortion mentioned as a right? It's not and attempts to squeeze it in via the 14th or 9th amendments are grossly flawed and without merit, and without any recognition of the intent of the writers of those amendments. It's made up law, in other words, not any sort of constitutional right.

Second, overturning Roe doesn't take away abortions from anyone. It just removes the Federal mandate that states must allow them and lets the individual states once again decide for themselves. Enough of the dishonest representation and hyperbole from the left on this.

Third, this is coming from the guy who heads the party that is constantly trying to infringe on an actual constitutional right clearly and unambiguously provided by the 2nd Amendment.

100% truth here. Amazingly, she made her point very clearly and concisely using big girl words, logic, and without screaming and crying and claiming it was the end of the world or exaggerating everything. That's how adults do it.

Yeah Christians that weren't even cool with non embryonic stem cell research would have been amenable with any abortion lol.

Nope didn't miss it. Just know it's lip service and wouldn't have stopped a right leaning SC from overturning Roe.

Not to mention how disingenuous her argument is anyways. Less than 1% of all abortions are carried out after 21 weeks, with the vast majority of those being for cases where the pregnancy is posing a risk to the mothers life.

Shouldn't we be happy with the states having the power to set their own term restrictions?

Comparing a mass murderer to a riot with thousands of people happening over the course of several weeks is stretching it IMO. How the police reacted in Uvalde is horrible, but that was primarily due to an incompetent police chief being over his head. The police and chiefs in the riot cities were being directed by the mayor(s) for the most part.

Well, you can move to Europe where the abortion laws are stricter or start your own country.

Northam talking about a delivered baby being kept comfortable on the table was when it became too obvious that the left was open to infanticide. Buttigeg was fine with popping it out and killing it. This crap needed to end.

Good for him. I doubt he appreciates the fact that he lives in a country that allows him to do that. Putin would throw him in shackles and send him to Siberia.

I think the feeling (or at least for me) is that in 2020 rioting and looting was normalized and minimized. We had politicians encouraging and cheerleading. In the process people died, businesses burned, cities burned, police stations overrun, federal buildings vandalized... whole city blocks essentially occupied and claiming to be self governed... this was the actions by the left, encouraged by the leftist politicians.

Those on the right were screaming about how wrong this was. Those on the left downplayed it... some rationalized and excused it. It was completely okay to many because this was their team.

The same politicians are now holding Jan 6 hearings to basically call out another politician for essentially doing exactly what they did. Jan 6 rioting suddenly became a white nationlist thing. We still have leftist media and politicians claiming the biggest threat to our nation is white nationalism and they use Jan 6th as their argument. Its like 2020 never happened.

Now we have the same charactors in Maxine Watters and the AOCs encouraging and rooting this on.

"To hell with the Supreme Court"
"Defy the Supreme Court"

Even after all the protesting and threats the SCOTUS has recieved... even after some derranged dude had to be talked out of trying to assassinate Kavanaugh...

So yeah... you can pretend the right is saying Jan 6th isn't a big deal but look in the mirror. This is how the left fires up its base.... as my 5 year old says "rage mode".

If you cannot see this rhetoric coming from the left is insanely hypocritical and potentially just as, if not more, damaging and dangerous as anything Trump ever said.... a big hearty fuck you right back at you.
She's the same idiot that wanted to knockoff Trump.

What? You think being a straight white guy who's conservative is the enemy? This has to have italics, because if true that is quite a victim complex.

These are words, in a sentence, written by you. What does this statement mean? Do you agree with the previous posters that gay marriage should be revisited and overruled?
Just give it some thought.

What's your definition of a shithole state? The ones with low crime, low cost of living, and governments that work, or do you prefer the shithole variety with high crime, lots of shootings, homeless tent cities with people shooting heroin and shitting on the sidewalks, and inner cities that would embarrass most third world countries? You been to Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Detroit, or other far left cities and states in recent years? Dems control the governor's mansions, the state legislatures, the mayors' offices, the city council, the police departments, and the school boards in those places. No resistance at all to their policies. They run things just as they want. Look at the results.

Alrighty, let's do the breakdown of the results. The following rankings reflect crime rate, shootings, governments working by providing education/reducing poverty, etc. Sadly I don't have any pictures to help, wouldn't want to make an emotional argument to try to sway someone now would we.

Northam talking about a delivered baby being kept comfortable on the table was when it became too obvious that the left was open to infanticide. Buttigeg was fine with popping it out and killing it. This crap needed to end.
That’s such a misrepresentation of what Northam was saying it’s almost funny. Here’s the actual context you didn’t get from Fox or Breitbart.

“When we talk about third trimester abortions … it’s done in cases where there may be severe deformities, there may be a fetus that is non-viable,” Northam said. “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between the physicians and the mother.”

The new legislation, Virginia House Bill 2491, among other changes, would permit an abortion or termination of pregnancy after the second trimester in cases where it is determined by a physician that “the continuation of the pregnancy is likely to result in the death of the woman or impair the mental or physical health of the woman.”

Current Virginia law requires that three doctors must certify that the mother’s physical and mental health is “substantially and irremediably” impaired to permit a third trimester abortion. The new bill would require certification by one doctor.
I don’t even care about abortion one way or the other. The fear monger and stretching of the truth to the maximum limit like the chick with pink hair Bishop posted is just annoying.
