I don’t understand why Moore and Carr have turned against Michigan when it is their logical landing spot. I think what ever it is could easily iron itself out. Like if they don’t like the coach he could be gone soon.

It is kind of strange what's happened to Michigan. The Harbaugh thing wasn't great but that can't be enough to explain it. They just made the CFP and these are kids in UM's back yard.

ND and OSU both have young, dynamic recruiters at HC, and coaching staffs with dynamic recruiters too. OSU gets quite a few high level recruits out of Michigan too.

Moore, whatever. Didn't he really grow up in Ohio and fairly recently moved to Detroit anyway? But no I don't really understand why Lloyd Carr's grandson who lives just outside Ann Arbor would hate UM, unless it's about Harbaugh, which is the sort of thing that can be ironed out.

Yeah, so, Tom is on the 247 board posting some stuff...

I won't copy and paste, but he's essentially bringing up that it's possible that he thinks the staff could move on. He's not predicting it, but he is bringing it up... He also thinks it would be a mistake...

Not sure if there's any smoke and he's trying to ease the news (about backing off) or if he is just straight thinking of possible chaos from this

If Moore (and family) had been telling the staff one thing and doing another since March, it’d say we are a boiling point and having Carr for 2024 gives ND the standing to make a better move then they have been now.

The out of left field opinions of why we can't get both is super entertaining.
I lived through our self imposed "academic requirements" to current NIL excuses that we can't compete. All are BS and excuses that anyone claiming them is talking out of their ass.

Welcome Back to big time College where the Irish sign 2 high Five star QBs.

We've had lazy recruiters since Lou Holtz.
Notre Dame is stepping back into the heavy weight ring!

1) Could this be why Dante wasn't visiting ND? The staff has already started to grow apart?
or
2) The staff grew apart from Dante, because he wouldn't set up a visit?

Loy noted last week there was some frustration on the staffs part with how things have played out but everyone was still confident. This really shouldn’t be all that surprising if it plays out this way.

I would 100% tell Dante we’re going to keep recruiting you but you’ve lost the exclusivity deal while picking up the phone and calling Avery Johnson and Rickie Collins.

Sadly, when there is this much drama in a recruits process it is usually not a good thing for ND. High drama recruits rarely pick ND, or if they do they don't stay around long. I'd pick up the phone if I was ND and start looking elsewhere.

Keep a spot open as long as there is a spot, but move on if someone else wants in.
