Dante cares about NIL. And to be fair, Rees and Freeman haven't done squat and Jimbo has. Winston + a NC. I hate Jimbo more than any other coach. I think he's a snake. I like MF a lot. So it pains me to say all of this. If it were me though, I could be bought and this nonsense about he won't be successful there and his undergraduate degree from ND will make him loads more money than one from A&M is wrong. Nobody makes a lot of money with a Bachelor's degree. Might ND offer him opportunities to make money that A&M won't? Absolutely, but it's not guaranteed, and it's harder to imagine as the opportunities abound in less clear ways. You still have to work your ass off. Do I think Dante's best move is ND due to the total package (degree, early PT, NFL potential, plenty of opp. to make $, alumni network, BHC, one on one with one of the hottest names in OC, elite OL, national brand, proximity to family, likely the face of the program)? Yep. But if you cannot convince him of that, perhaps he's not right for ND. Even if ND landed both Dante and Carr, there would be an extreme bias towards Dante as the starter. He carries a lot of buzz that CJ does not. ND offers him the best opportunity. But I can see why a 17 year old might take easy cash and a NC coach over early playing time, proximity, and degree. There is no question I would take guaranteed $9 million over an ND degree. No question. Call me crazy, but that's the decision I would make for good or worse. I would invest about $8 million and have one hell of a good time with the other $1 million and I would likely blow my NFL dreams due to lack of discipline. Not all kids are like me. However, if ND isn't playing this NIL game to the same level then I say get used to losing big QB's. It will be the first of many. In the non NIL era, Dante already committed to ND.
