This is so frustrating. Why does this always happen to us. I mean I could see if we had a bad year, but we didn’t and we lose him to UF. How can this be fixed?

He wanted to stay in Florida. He was out the door before both teams made coaching changes. Sometimes there is literally nothing you can do.

I wish he stayed with ND but this happens to every program at some point and it's not always just about winning. You should be glad we didn't lose the entire class after BK left.

Good lord man.

I can't remember being as pessimistic and disappointed going into NSD as I am now. Probably have to go back to 2012 when all the Darby, Greenberry shenanigans took place.

This is so insanely frustrating.

I am pretty sure I know how this is going to end.

By Gawd, that’s DBBK’s music!”

BK runs down the main aisle of the auditorium, drops a flying elbow on the hats on the table, grabs Devin and throws him on his shoulder and runs out, to the utter disbelief of all in attendance

There's still plenty of reason for optimism.

Did I miss something or are people just reading between the lines?

Freeman visited and by the sounds of things it went well. Maybe the kid just wants to have an official announcement.

Announcement =\= bad news.

Ziegler has an announcement. Other commits will too.

That being said, I have the feeling the staff convinced him to think on it otherwise he’d already be a Gator. They did the same thing after his Stanford visit, which I’m sure they mentioned. I don’t see it ending the same though.

Just imagine how bad it would be if JS would've decided to wait for Fickell instead of hiring Freeman... Tommy and Freeman would have already completed pillaging ND's signing class for BK at LSU, and we'd be left waiting to see which of UC's commits would opt to wait for February in case Fickell wanted to bring them here instead lol.

the carnage to the recruiting class would have been unbearable to watch.

Exactly. The only guys we're gonna lose are the guys that would've bailed anyway, and we even got a player we probably don't with BK in Schrauth. All while the Oklahomas of the world scramble to salvage their decimated recruiting classes and mass exodus of transfers.

Lol I would have had to take a month off of IE until the bowl game if that happened.

Zieglar is having a signing ceremony, not an announcement ceremony. Those aren't the same things.

Well sure. Moore is uncommitted so he has to announce somewhere. I’m just saying the sheer existence of a ceremony doesn’t spell bad news. If he was committing to ND he’d still have a ceremony. Many are organized by the HS wanting to do it.

Who asked you for a level-headed common sense opinion?

i know you know there is a difference in Moore and Ziegler in regards to any ceremony.

One decommitted one didnt. One was here last Saturday one wasnt.

Moore I think there was always a part of him that I believe locked in a spot somewhat when we pushed for a commitment but his eye was peaking at the SEC the whole time. It’s not unlike Williams in that vein. Walker I view differently I don’t think he “locked” in a spot just to upgrade later I think he has genuinely just viewed ND as the leader essentially this whole time but has been committed/uncommitted with ND as public leader more than what you commonly want to think of a verbal as.

The real moral of this cycles story, and BK/COVID certainly impacted it, was whether it was BKs call or coach by coach or however NOT shutting down your recruitment from our side is viewed, needs to change or be examined. Williams, Walker, Chan, Sneed, JR and Moore I think, correct if I’m wrong, is the tally on kids who visited schools this fall. 2 decommits, Chan needed to be firmed up, Sneed said he’d be gone without Freeman, JR needed to be reaffirmed. None were just fun visits like we would have like to think. A stronger stance maybe aggravates kids but you’d have weeks/months of open season recruiting instead of am I onto Plan B or not type uncertainty.

Again wasn’t really the point I was trying to make. You can see in the post I say I think he chooses Florida lol. I’m just saying, the existence of a ceremony does not point towards not recommitting to ND.

If Moore is coming to ND I would expect the staff to be aware of his decision beforehand. And there would likely be some positive vibes from the recruiting-verse.

The silence is a very bad sign for ND, I think.

You’d be hoping for a rabbit out of the hat two times. Freeman already convinced him let a visit simmer and then you’ll realize it’s ND once. Just unlikely you can pull that off twice. I think he’s fully planning on committing to Florida tomm. A stroke of lighting twice certainly is tough to bank on.

There was once a farmer in ancient China who owned a horse. “You are so lucky!” his neighbours told him, “to have a horse to pull the cart for you.” “Maybe,” the farmer replied.

One day he didn’t latch the gate properly and the horse ran away. “Oh no! That is terrible news!” his neighbours cried. “Such bad luck!” “Maybe,” the farmer replied.

A few days later the horse returned, bringing with it six wild horses. “How fantastic! You are so lucky,” his neighbours told him. “Maybe,” the farmer replied.

The following week the farmer’s son was breaking-in one of the wild horses when it threw him to the ground, breaking his leg. “Oh no!” the neighbours cried. “Such bad luck, all over again!” “Maybe,” the farmer replied.

The next day soldiers came and took away all the young men to fight in the army. The farmer’s son was left behind. “You are so lucky!” his neighbours cried. “Maybe,” the farmer replied.

and so on...
