They've been living in the portal for awhile now and it hasn't worked well for them. Brought in 4 in 2019 and 9 transfers in 2021.

It's funny he's worried about ND's QB recruiting, but not USC's overall lack of recruiting. They signed 12 guys in 2020, 22 last year, and only have 4 commitments (one is a punter) this year. That's not even half a scholarship roster. As it stands they may not even be able to field a scholarship 2-deep on the OL next year, and most of those guys were Heggie-style panic offers just to get bodies. I know they have a few high rated QBs, but none of them are going to have time to throw CJ the ball.

Singer just said USC’s pitch to Williams is just a negative ND message. Basically telling him ND can’t pass the ball.
Someone needs to explain to kids, and grownups, that in general, when someone’s pitch is not positive about themselves, but just negative about someone else, they are not the good choice.

If that's the case I feel a lot better about head-to-head recruiting against Riley going forward. The team has like 4 commits and loses more than it wins yet he's talking about ND.

He did not say that was their only pitch.

With Williams, Walker and Moore I really don’t think we’ll know any answer till the fax comes in. They might not even know the answer right now themselves.

Yeah I think all three of these kids are struggling with decisions right now. It is a good sign for ND that neither Williams or Moore committed on their respective visits to SC and UF. I don't think Bama is actually a threat for Walker (not sure they would even accept a commitment from him) so he wasn't on commit watch. But UM is clearly after him and in it.

We'll know soon enough!

A) I didn’t say “only”
B) Every site you read, the first thing mentioned is that USC is negatively recruiting ND about passing the ball.
It seems to be the focus of their recruitment to flip him.

I do very much enjoy the logic. "ND can't pass the ball" and yet they averaged more yards per pass attempt than your school there Lincoln Log.

Oh, tell me about the remarkable prowess of USC's QB development, where you have guys who were at one point potential first round draft picks getting pulled for a true freshman. And the fact that I can make that claim and I have to specify WHICH TIME only further cements the utter bullsh*t of that recruiting pitch.

If that's the angle, or hell, it's that just AN ANGLE, and CJ is swayed by that...good luck young man.

Even prior to this visit, C.J. did himself say he was concerned about ND's quarterbacks and their abilities. So it was already on his mind.

Also, if Moore and/or Williams don't go to ND, it seems like the real deciding factor is just geography. Both of them seem drawn to staying home.

So much teeth gnashing over a guy who would be wholly irrelevant if it weren’t for depleted roster numbers.

I will blame Del 0% for losing his commitment if he opts for USC. I will blame Del 100% for recruiting a whopping zero WRs from the Midwest or Midatlantic.
