It certainly wouldn't hurt. He would have to be the #1 2022 target that Freeman sets his sights on once it's official, if he hasn't started already.

I think it is unlikely, IMO. That would almost indicate that the reason we were losing this recruitment is solely because of BK right? I think hometown U is just winning this or has already won.

I don’t see why anything that’s happened recently would affect his recruitment. I would imagine Freeman was recruiting him all along.

You didn't notice that Freeman was the DC previously and now he's a HC? You don't think that makes any kind of difference?

No I don’t. I get that we’re all excited about it and that we retained most of our staff but I just don’t see how Freeman’s promotion matters that much to an uncommitted recruit that we weren’t even leading for. I think it matters much, much more to kids that are committed or that we likely lead for. Look at it this way, we were already in his top 3 to begin with and he just watched our head coach leave for a bigger paycheck and I’m sure he’s read about drama between BK and JS. I’d love to be proven wrong though.

Think of it this way .... do you want your friend to be the boss or the random guy as a boss?

If you hit it off with a recruiter, that school is in good shape. If you hit it off with the recruiter and hate the head honcho, then you have pause about the school. If you hit it off with the recruiter and he in turn is now the big dog, well then his perception of you holds more value.. the things he says to you holds more weight. The ultimate decision on whether I play Saturday or sit,, rests with the guy who thinks I'm his #1 priority.

His primary reason for shutting ND down was he didn’t believe Freeman would still be there in a year or two. Now he will be.

I had never read anything about him worrying about Freeman sticking around. I can see where that would change things.

yeah to me this is about only a few things and their importance in his decision making.

1 - Were we eliminated because of a dislike to Brian Kelly
2 - Marcus Freemans expected tenure length at ND
3 - Wanting to stay home

If #3 is the priority and #1 wasnt an issue than i don't see this changing anything, regardless if there was any concern about #2.
If #2 is the priority then maybe #1 and #3 dont matter.

This one is gonna be wild. It’s ND-Iowa. Seems like OSU is not really a factor. Iowa thinks they are the favorite and I think the ND writers think they are too.

BUT.

MFMF didn’t go in house yet. Iowa thinks they’re getting the last word but MFMF might have something to say about that.
