Forgot to come back and update this. He told Loy it was just an MCL sprain and he should be fine.

Was ranked #48 by rivals in December. Final rankings have him outside the top 100

Dudes a five star imo... Not that mine matters but I was psyched when we got him and that hasn't changed

All I know is that everytime I see him, I am amazed at how large he is.

Sometimes I don't even recognize him and I think, "man, ND should go after THAT guy."

glad to see him up to 300lbs., the big thing about him coming in this year was increasing his strength and increasing his weight.

He was 300 when he checked in this summer. He's not your typical skinny basketball player / TE turned OT. He's a big boned kid. I'll be shocked if he doesn't play above 320, maybe 330. He can carry it easy now that he's not wasting calories hooping with his boys, Rattler and Nico Manion of the Warriors.

This was against Cuse's starting DT too. True freshman driving starters into oblivion, pretty encouraging.

Was volunteering at a vaccination site in Phoenix yesterday and ran into the Baker family. They said Tosh is up to 310 right now and that's where Balis wants him this year. Lil bro Luc looks like he's headed for a hybrid LB future unless he catches a Tosh like growth spurt. Unfortunately, we were way under staffed so I didn't have time to ask the important questions of:

Who's gonna start and where?

Is Anthony Lucas joining Tosh next year?

Will Duce Robinson join both of them in '23?

Didnt leave very impressed huh ??

I never responded to this and I should've because it has significance today.

The reason Tosh looked like "just" a 4* that night? He had to handle a 6-6 DE who went mid-major D1 and a beast of a Soph at DT next to him named Anthony Lucas.

At 307 looked skinny per one observer.

I'm surprised he's this light. I've said it for years, this is a 325-330+ guy. That's exactly what MF@ISD wrote today.

Do you think he is another year away from playing/starting?

I wonder if he got too big in the off-season and that was hurting his movement and athleticism. Just a hunch otherwise that does seem like a low weight.

Real talk time...

Did Tosh just become Hunter Biven?

It seems like this is the current trend. But, he’s only a Sophomore and has recently underwent a massive weight change. The reasonable fan in me says I’ll give him sometime at this new weight to get back to the athlete he was before. Similar to Khalid Kareem, sometimes weight comes on too fast and it needs to be lost and then put back on much slower. Maybe we’re 1 year from that process. He still has 3 years of eligibility after this year.

Big Mike wasn’t anything special as a true Sophomore.

Is he a guard tho? I'd say no. Good problem to have if say Alt or Carmody pass him.

think he means a career backup who would play at most places, just not ND. I believe Crus made that comment about Bivin a couple/few years back.

Yeah I figured which is why I asked about guard. To Crus point heat end up like Hunter Bivin. We will see.

Mike didn't have an uber athletic Carmody & gene freak Alt on the roster with him his Soph year... and Ronnie Stanley wasn't at LT for 3 more years.

Anything can happen but oh how I wish he'd have jumped directly into Balis U the day after he lost his last HS football game.

Fair, but I would think the finished product of McGlinchey would’ve eventually played over those guys. And that’s what I’m trying to say. I’m not ruling out Baker’s upside at 6’8 with his basketball background, just yet.

I agree with what you’re saying and I’m not giving up but it’s also fair to speculate McG doesn’t become McG if he didn’t get 3 years as starter because he got stuck behind 2 guys his age or younger.

Has Baker been primarily with the 1's or the 2's in fall camp?

Is it fair to say that he adjusting slowly to the college game?
