I voted Coan, but nothing would surprise me. I could see a strange world where just about everyone except RP3 could be starting.

Are they practicing? In what setting did Freeman see him?

he didn’t see him but word around the program is that during team activities. Probably means workouts and throwing sessions.

Just spoke to a buddy on the topic. He said his biggest questions, is "what QB transfers out after spring ball"...

He believes whoever comes out below Pyne and Clark is gone. I agree, and could see both being gone, at least by end of season.

The only conceivable way Coan doesn't start game one is injury imo. If Buchner really is legit he'll get his shot for Purdue or Toledo. But that first game back, with full stadiums, away, on a Sunday? You go with Coan.

I just really really hope that whoever the #2 is, that they're given ample burn throughout the season because the 2022 season is going to be F***ED for a 1st time starter as is, let alone one with no real game time experience.

I too voted Coan. I know the fanbase is most excited about Buchner, but if given the chance I want to see what Pyne can do.

I just really hope we can see a spring game this year. I'd like to see all of the QBs performing.

Yeah, but IMO he wouldn't have been near as good in 2008 had it not been for being thrown to the wolves in 2007. He made considerable progress both off seasons.

I don't think it is a secret Coan will start, he was brought here for a reason and I doubt he would come if he wasn't given some assurances by the staff. That being said, I think many have spoken on this, I really hope they prioritize getting Buchner in as much as possible when it makes sense. Not just big leads (and please GOD let the man throw it a bit instead of just handing it off), but maybe a select few packages.

Would love to give him some RPO looks if/when he is comfortable. His athleticism is exciting and is a wrinkle Coan's game is lacking.
