Well 9 more days to kick off and we still do not know the starting QB. Weis said he knows who it is but has not told the starter yet. He said that the person should know by now and if he didnt then well their dumb. What if Jones starts the whole year and the next. Theres a big possibilty that Clausen will pack up camp and transfer. Plus, we all know that its smart to recruit the best players no matter what. But with weis getting the best QB in the 2008 class (D.Crist duh) in my eyes. Do you think that Weis knows that Clausen might be a bust and got Crist maybe because clausen might red shirt or transfer? I personally think that sharpley or jones will start. But i believe that clausen will be the starter by the end of the year. (After the USC game)

Do you think Clausen would pack up and leave if Jones was the starter the next two years?

There is NO chance that Clausen will transfer. There is also NO chance that Weis thinks Clausen will be a bust, and NO chance that Crist was his insurance policy in any meaningful sense.

(IMO, anyway.)

You sir are correct. I hope he starts this year. I have a feeling that Clausen will run out to start the game for the the first drive and then someone else will come in after him. OR!!! Clausen and Jones share reps. Like Leak and Tebow. But who knows what charlie has in his mind but its killing me and everyother ND fan.

You do know that Weis offered Crist right around the beginning of Spring ball right? So Weis figured our Clausen was a bust in March? Hmmm and if Jimmys hurt it must not be serious because HE'S THROWING THE BALL. Not hard or fluid, but he's still throwing. It's probably an injury that will take a couple weeks into the season to become 100% and no true Fr. should be starting from day 1 anyway. Let alone we have road games against PSU and UM in week 2 and 3. I don't know if you've noticed but playing in Happy Valley at night when they have a "White Out" crowd is probably the hardest thing to do if you are a Sr. QB that is a front runner for the heisman, a little harder when it's your first road game as a Fr. I'm a little tired of people making Crist sound like God, I've seen him play on TV and he's good but VERY VERY RAW and no where near Jimmy was in HS. If you want to bring up the age thing then we can. Jimmy was Daynes age as a So. and his stats were something like 3,665 58 TD's and 6 INTS. I don't want to be pumping Clausen off, but I want people to know the facts before they over hype Crist more then Jimmy. Do you think Jimmy is a tad hyped to be the next Tom Brady? Well you seem to be doing that with Crist.

I never said Crist was better than Clausen or visa-versa. I was just putting out a thought. Some one needs laid.:jerkit:

QB's come to ND to compete, that is why we got Crist. If Clausen starts next year and plays 2, with his early enrollment he might gradute in 3 then go pro. Crist will "redshirt" Thus giving him 2-3 years as starter based on what Jimmy does. Or Clausen could be 3rd and stay 5 years thus causing Crist to consider a transfer. It will all play out and we will have a great QB for at least the next 5 years.

I think Sharpley starts with Jones coming in on short yardage and goal line. Clausen will be used alot like Brian Brohm was used his Freshman year. That is my prediction

Most of this sounds reasonable to me, though I disagree with your prediction for this year.

Note, though, that Clausen CAN'T stay for a fifth year (unless he gets a medical redshirt), because he was an early enrollee last year.

---He can stay stay a 5th year. Chris Stweart was an EE last year and he'd eliigible for a 5th year.

Dude, why don't you go back to Purple Helmet and bother those guys with your constant bashing of any opinion that doesn't match yours....
Nowhere in this thread did anybody annoint Crist the next Christ... the only person genting their panties in a twist seems to be you....

I'm going to agree with Golden_Domer88, you clearly need to get laid.

(Sorry to put you all through that again. Don't worry, though, just go look at AlbIrish's avatar and you'll be fine.)

He did come off as well spoken in that clip. He seems to have discovered that he's going to be under a microscope from now on and that he needs to be extremely cautious in everything he does. That's what I gleaned from his comments about the past being the past and not wanting to discuss the hummer limo and things of that nature. I think he's getting a fast track lesson on what it takes to be a ND quarterback and I guarantee that he won't be making many stupid mistakes in the future.

You want people to not bicker on an internet message forum? Yeah good luck with that.

I have been visiting message forums for more than a few years and most (read: all) of them are filled with bickering and disagreement. In most cases disagreement is the spice of any good forum. If everybody just went around agreeing and leaving one sentence responses about how great Notre Dame is, it would be a pretty boring place to post.

Unfortunately, there are always going to be people that don't know how to get their point accross without being combative, disrespectful or argumentative. And if you would rather turn the other cheek and ignore it, then that is certainly your perogative. But not everybody handles things that way. Most people show respect when respect is shown towards them, and when someone shows them disrespect, they are going to reply accordingly.
