Jeremy is now a Rivals
recruit, though not in the Rivals 250.

recruit, though not in the Rivals 250.I find it interesting that the timetable for his decision is BEFORE his visit to the USC game.
----------I agree, I don't care what anybody says unless a kid grows up a HUGE ND fan he needs to come to South Bend for a visit. He won't just choose us on a "feeling" from being on the phone with CB. Any recruit who likes the university or who is recruiting them they want to see what the campus is like and how they'll fit in. So, if he doesn't unofficially visit or anything I just don't see him coming here.
a lot of this info is coming from the Florida camp, so it may not be completely accurate.
I agree with that as well. The recent Scout headline on Brown is misleading and it has nothing to do with Brown getting concerned about ND's ship filling up. The only way he would commit early to ND without a visit would be if he really loved ND & CB and was worried that if he waited until an October official visit that there would be no room for him. However, that is not the case here. Brown is just talking like he wants to make his decision earlier than the end of October as he had previously stated. Now he is talking mid-September, and at the same time, not really saying much about ND. All in all the latest info does not seem to indicate that Brown is still a toss-up between Florida & ND, but a lot of this info is coming from the Florida camp, so it may not be completely accurate.
If Brown committed to Florida, or any school other than ND, in mid-September, would CW still allow him to make an Official Visit for the USC game? I guess if Brown indicated that he wanted to under the new "if they're looking, we're looking policy", that CW would allow it. It will be interesting to see how that scenario proceeds if Brown does in fact commit somewhere else, although if it is Florida, Urbie would not allow it at the loss of his scholarship offer.
Also, we should all keep in mind as I said earlier that if Jeremy's top choice is Florida and if he wanted to commit to Florida in mid-September, would the Cockwad let him. I kind of doubt that as Brown is not in the most elite category that Urban is looking for to fill up his class this year. Brown is at about the same level recruiting ranking wise as Ian Williams was last year, and we may see a similar scenario unfold. Brown, like Williams last year, may try to commit to Florida early, and be told to wait, and like Ian, Jeremy may decide not to wait and end up at his second choice, which could be ND. I kind of hope it does not happen that way because we will then see a Trattou watch posted on the ND message boards from Brown's committment to NSD. Of course what would life be like on the ND message boards without a little angst, so bring it on Jeremy.:banghead2
---------Ian almost buckled around NSD saying that all the SEC schools were on him hard to switch to them (Including Urban.) Is it possible that Urban can make Poodle look like a good guy?
Mike Frank mentioned that Jeremys father has said that he does not have a written offer from Florida. (I'm assuming Urban keeps promising it's as good as a written to keep him in his back pocket.)
I hope he comes on a warm day.
He said weather wouldn't matter. But then again he also said Urban was a good man too, so who knows?
Jeremy was on Power Hour tonight and he said he no longer plans on making an early descion, and that he is still definately planning on comming to the ND/USC game for an official visit. He mentioned that the reason he was not able to make a summer visit to ND was that his grandpa has been ill and his father was helping take care of him. He seemed very excited about ND, and especially Corwin Brown who he raved about, and he also listed CB as one of the top reasons he was interested in ND, along with ND's presteige, and academics.
Besides all of that he said that distance wouldn't be a factor, and that his dad was also ok with him going to a school that was far away from home.
I have a strong feeling he ends up at Florida. The good news is some of my Florida friends don't think he'll ever receive a commitable offer. Gotta love the Gators and their recruiting practices.
Jeremy has now received his official written offer in the mail from Florida.
