Since it's not allowing me to edit my previous post I'll add on that I think WE NEED to get him on campus for a commitment, just like anybody else or I feel UF will get him. Any thoughts?

We don't need to get him on campus to get a committment if he commits because he is worried about getting a slot, but I am not sure that is the case here as far as ND goes, at least not yet. Brown can play CB or WR, neither of which are getting filled up very quickly. If Blanton commits, that might push Brown a little, but I do not see him making an unofficial before his Official of October 20. Not everyone is like Sweat and can afford to do a ton of unofficial visits, especially if it, as in this case, involves air travel & hotel expense. I guess if Jeremy gets a little antsy about the volume of ND commits, we will have to hope that he is impressed enough with CW/CB to commit without a visit.

Don't forget that Jeremy's other top choice is the Cockwad, and I would be surprised given Jeremy's recruiting stature that he would be consider blessed enough to join Urban's Almighty 18 this early in the process. I also have to believe that at this point in time Blanton and Slaughter are much higher up in the ND chain's hopes for CB's, but at the same time, I don't see him being turned away if he decides he needs to pull the ND trigger quickly if Blanton commits in two weeks.

I find it interesting that the timetable for his decision is BEFORE his visit to the USC game.

----------I agree, I don't care what anybody says unless a kid grows up a HUGE ND fan he needs to come to South Bend for a visit. He won't just choose us on a "feeling" from being on the phone with CB. Any recruit who likes the university or who is recruiting them they want to see what the campus is like and how they'll fit in. So, if he doesn't unofficially visit or anything I just don't see him coming here.

I agree with that as well. The recent Scout headline on Brown is misleading and it has nothing to do with Brown getting concerned about ND's ship filling up. The only way he would commit early to ND without a visit would be if he really loved ND & CB and was worried that if he waited until an October official visit that there would be no room for him. However, that is not the case here. Brown is just talking like he wants to make his decision earlier than the end of October as he had previously stated. Now he is talking mid-September, and at the same time, not really saying much about ND. All in all the latest info does not seem to indicate that Brown is still a toss-up between Florida & ND, but a lot of this info is coming from the Florida camp, so it may not be completely accurate.

If Brown committed to Florida, or any school other than ND, in mid-September, would CW still allow him to make an Official Visit for the USC game? I guess if Brown indicated that he wanted to under the new "if they're looking, we're looking policy", that CW would allow it. It will be interesting to see how that scenario proceeds if Brown does in fact commit somewhere else, although if it is Florida, Urbie would not allow it at the loss of his scholarship offer.

Also, we should all keep in mind as I said earlier that if Jeremy's top choice is Florida and if he wanted to commit to Florida in mid-September, would the Cockwad let him. I kind of doubt that as Brown is not in the most elite category that Urban is looking for to fill up his class this year. Brown is at about the same level recruiting ranking wise as Ian Williams was last year, and we may see a similar scenario unfold. Brown, like Williams last year, may try to commit to Florida early, and be told to wait, and like Ian, Jeremy may decide not to wait and end up at his second choice, which could be ND. I kind of hope it does not happen that way because we will then see a Trattou watch posted on the ND message boards from Brown's committment to NSD. Of course what would life be like on the ND message boards without a little angst, so bring it on Jeremy.:banghead2

a lot of this info is coming from the Florida camp, so it may not be completely accurate.

For example, what the Gator camp forgot to mention is that Brown wants to camp at ND in July. Ah, that's better.

See, there are always two sides to a story, especially in the cuthroat world of CFB recruiting. Somebody make that a toss-up again.:)

---------Ian almost buckled around NSD saying that all the SEC schools were on him hard to switch to them (Including Urban.) Is it possible that Urban can make Poodle look like a good guy?

Some weren't even trying to get him to come to their school. Some were just trying to get him to stay in the SEC and advise him against ND.

Brown was blown away by his visit to Florida about a week or so ago, and when it comes to Notre Dame, Brown says the name Notre Dame speaks for itself. Brown continues to speed up the decision-making process. He was expected to visit Notre Dame for the USC game in the eighth week of the season (Oct. 20). But he'll likely visit sooner than that and make a decision perhaps as early as September. Clemson, Auburn and Tennessee are other schools that Brown has mentioned as possible official visits. But more and more, it seems to be shaping up as just a Florida-Notre Dame battle.

Mike Frank mentioned that Jeremys father has said that he does not have a written offer from Florida. (I'm assuming Urban keeps promising it's as good as a written to keep him in his back pocket.)

If that is the case, Urban will find out that his brand of recruiting will cost him BIG in the long run....as much as people want to knock Zook, he does offer guys 'that Illinois has no business offering', and then he shows these guys the 'love'.

Urban's approach of 'offering to consider offering', would be interesting if it was to someone like Josh Jenkins who would then 'commit to consider committing'.

Jeremy was on Power Hour tonight and he said he no longer plans on making an early descion, and that he is still definately planning on comming to the ND/USC game for an official visit. He mentioned that the reason he was not able to make a summer visit to ND was that his grandpa has been ill and his father was helping take care of him. He seemed very excited about ND, and especially Corwin Brown who he raved about, and he also listed CB as one of the top reasons he was interested in ND, along with ND's presteige, and academics.

Besides all of that he said that distance wouldn't be a factor, and that his dad was also ok with him going to a school that was far away from home.

He said weather wouldn't matter. But then again he also said Urban was a good man too, so who knows?

I imagine Urban 'was' a good man; he was a Pope.....just too bad that some couple named their 'slimey, snake-oil salesman' son after him......:(

Best wishes to Jeremy's Grandpa for a speedy recovery....

I have a strong feeling he ends up at Florida. The good news is some of my Florida friends don't think he'll ever receive a commitable offer. Gotta love the Gators and their recruiting practices.

-------After listening to his interview and watching his film I really would love to get him. He can be recruited as an athlete and we could put him on either the "D" side or the "O" side. You can't lose with him....a great interview.

Scout.com: Looking to Lead

-----Funny to see that the Gayturds are still only team with high interest even though he goes around saying ND and UF are tied. Alot of you may not agree with me, but I get the feeling he winds up here and as a WR or CB because he could help on either side so it is a win/win deal and won't play right away anyway so he'll have time to find his spot on either side of the ball.

He was gushing big time over Corwin and it sounded as if he'd definently would be Irish after his visit. The only thing standing in our way is his probably unacceptable written scholarship from Urban. It's now an official offer, but still probably can't accept it, Urban you douchebag.

Not sure if this is an infringement of copyright/etc, but there is a teaser on 'Eyes' indicating that Jeremy may visit in July. Ya gotta luv it - I suspect that he is seeing the train getting ready to leave the station and he wants to be on it......

Dude he's DEFINENTLY committing when he comes. If you heard the way this kid talked about CB and HE STILL HASN'T MET HIM you'd know that it's a no brainer. Get ready because Jeremy will be our next commit sounds like McCarthy won't make a decision before then. Jeremy can play WR or CB and thats a great thing and a great kid, I'd love for him to be on our team.
