Don't let the ugly uniform fool you, his team plays against some of the best.

The ND tradition at TE looks strong for the foreseable future.

6' 7", that is what I like to see. A tall, athletic TE with plenty of room to add weight. He will be a nightmare for DBs, LBs, anyone to cover, and if his blocking is good, he will be a nightmare to rush. Another fine addition to an already stellar TE corps.

Top notch competition down in Cincy and Elder is one of the best. Great addition for the Irish!

I would like to add that he is a Great blocker so he is the Full package real deal, now we can be disgustingly picky with the other TE we take, but i have a feeling it'll be someone like Plato.

Another great pick up by the Irish coaching staff! This is a fantastic trend ... getting these top notch TE's to come to ND! ND has become TE University! Congrats and welcome to the ND brotherhood, Kyle!!!

From all reports Kyle had an outstanding performance at this weekend's Purdue Nike Camp. Many national recruiting analysts left the camp praising his performance as he made quite a few very nice catches due to some inconsistant QB play. Most believe he was not only the best recieving TE at the camp but he was also in the top ten as far as the WR are concerned as well. Kyle has also put back on all of the weight he lost for basketball, and has added about ten more pounds than what he played at last fall.

Great update, so that puts him at... 230? 240? In between?

I've heard 3 different weights on him, so I don't remember what last fall's was.

Somewhere around 230, he weighed in at 229 at the Nike Camp. He actually went down to between 210 - 215 for basketball season.

Thanks for the knowledge... does he plan on doing basketball next year too? Reason being, he'd probably drop the weight once more, rather than bulk up in anticipation of Notre Dame.

I'm not sure. I can't remember having read anything that mentioned it one way or the other.

I wondered about that, too. But, in reality, it probably doesn't matter too much. When he comes in as a freshman, he'll have Konrad, Will and Mike ahead of him on the depth chart. So, with two tight end sets and injuries he might crack the 2 deep rotation, but he'll have at least all spring and summer to get ready and probably his whole freshman year, as well.

Knowing Elder kids, it's a safe bet he'll play basketball. They're a competitive lot and he'll bleed purple and white well beyond the day he enrolls at Notre Dame.

You guys will love this kid. You'll start hoping for more Elder kids talented enough to get an ND offer. And this is coming from an alumnus of a big rival of theirs.

He shows excellent skills, particularly his hands. He looks just like a WR out there and when he adds some bulk to his frame (man he looked skinny) he's gonna be unstoppable at TE

I believe he is the top TE in the land and at the very least, top 2

Thanks for the vid IK. This kid got some recieving skill and is gonna be awesome. Depending on how he develops I would think he might get some burn as a slot receiver as well..

Another interesting sidenote here is that Chancey Aghayere is right in front of Kyle as a 5 star prospect at the #21 spot. Sure is gonna be tough to get that guy out of Texas

Kyle is said to be a smooth pass threat with the ability to stretch vertically. He has a solid frame to build upon, soft hands, and sure route running abilities. He uses his height well, and has the ability to play slot or wide creating mismatches inside the field.

A recent quote from Kyle: "Being a leader on the field is important to me. I know that my teammates look up to me in key situations, and I have to do whatever I can to inspire them to victory. I also know that actions speak louder than words, so I have to go out there and do the best that I can and show them the way to victory."

Let's not get so far ahead of ourselves that we forget the superb talent we have in Carlson, Yeatman, Reuland, and Ragone but everytime I hear about Kyle, I get more and more excited about the new face of Notre Dame football.
