this was a text from IMG's coach to wiltfong--"I know they like ND and it's a good fit for him in my opinion,"

“I honestly wasn’t going to take any other visits this summer,” said Hainsey. “I was done. Then, my mom and I were talking, and we felt that she needed to see Notre Dame since she had been on other trips with me. She really liked it though. The staff is super nice and she liked that. She said they were real and she loved what they had to say about everything, especially with the academics and life after football aspect.”

I’d say it was probably my conversation with coach Hiestand and the way he explains what he can do for me in football and what the school can do for me in life,” said Hainsey. “I really started thinking about it after our talk. I think it’s one of the only places that can do the best for me in school and football.”

“I think he likes me at tackle because of my athletic ability and length,” said Hainsey. “But, he made it clear that it’s kind of uncertain at this point and would be figured out down the road.”

“His pitch is that he doesn’t have a pitch,” said Hainsey of his talk with Kelly. “They show what Notre Dame can do for me and that’s it. They have what they have and they are what they are. Notre Dame is not for everyone. They told me that. I could see that. He said that they won’t be mad at me if I go somewhere else, but they made it clear that Notre Dame is a place I could succeed at. They simply talk about themselves and what it can do for me personally and don’t talk other schools or promise anything.”

DONE VISITING SCHOOLS and will decide before senior season

So, let's assume we add Hainsey. Are we taking 5 OL this year? Obviously Sarell and Wills are takes through signing day, is there anyone else we are in on?

Trey Smith is still a possibility along with Wills and Sarell. Sounds like Smith is wanting to start right away, he'd have to beat out a lot of guys to do it at ND and he won't have the benefit of EE either so I think the Ole Miss rumors are strong.

I think Wills will go for playing time too and end up at UK. He might start at RT as a true freshman and if would have LT once Landon Young leaves. IF Hainsey goes Irish, that pushes Wills towards UK even more IMO.

Sarell is a 3 way coin flip. You'd think he'd always be a take but if ND got Hainsey & Smith, they might have to make a deal with Smith to not bring in anymore heavy hitters for him to commit. I'd do that if I were HH.

Interesting note... HH is kicking the tires on lower rated, BIG McGlinchey type OT's right now. Denbrock has been in on 6-8 Dalton Wagner of IL, 6-6.5 Andrew Stueber of CT was on campus yesterday. 6-8 Gavin Olsen is on campus tomorrow. Add to that the interest in 6-8 Obinna Eze and it seems he may take a project in order to hit a home run. He has the talent & depth to use a spot for such a move.

So my answer to will it me 4 or 5? Yes. lol

I don't understand OL wanting to start as true freshman. That year is, IMO, better spent bulking up and learning the position. You can't weight train the same when you're RS vs. playing, and they need strength. I feel like as an overall development and future draft goal, it's better to sit that first year out but what do I know.

Then again when you'd have to weight train with Longo I suppose it's a moot theory.

Often times immaturity (and sometimes stupidity) goes hand in hand with impatience. I've even heard of people not wanting to wait the reccomended time before staining a deck.

Sounds like we have a really solid shot at landing this kid. He has great film. Gets off the ball faster than any other OL recruit if you ask me. #70 247 comp. and plays at IMG??? Very nice. Does anyone know if 275 is his current weight?

MSU fans going to be so rustled. I got blacklisted from that board for starting a Markesse Stepp thread a while back asking if they thought they lead for him, turned into a guy saying "well looks like ND will finally out recruit MSU" Brought up stats and got blacklisted.

To verify, ND appears to be the dark horse with things subject to change in the recruiting world right?

Breaks down each school in the recently posted update and I know loy is pro nd but it feels very much like we're in the driver's seat with a commitment coming in two weeks.

Sorry I can't post the article on my phone

“Notre Dame just has a different feel to it. It feels really at home. I’m really comfortable there, especially with the coaches. Coach Hiestand is a great coach. He produces amazing talent every year and I think that would be really beneficial to me. I think Notre Dame can do a lot for me after football, after my career is over, whether it’s in the NFL or after college. No matter what, I think I’m going to have a good chance to get a great job and be very prepared for life.”

Glowing reviews on ND and had the best things to say about ND

Wow Sean Fitz PSU head guy at 24 7 is also hearing it's ND

visited PSU 13 times in two years and with two visits to ND we closed the deal. HH showing off his brass golden balls

Also Lorenzo said Michigan was second to MSU, Farrell(lol) heard he was all PSU and I'll do some more digging but everything says ND

Also respect Driskell because he keeps it 100 like I do he isn't a fan of Hainsey and thinks we can do better. Believes Hainsey is strictly a guard and Sarrell and Willis are best at guards and he thinks we need to start landing tackles. IMO staff wants Sarrell and Willis at tackles and Hainsey at guard. I don't think Trey Smith is coming here and will be playing his college ball in the south.

Only evaluation I care about regarding Hainsey is from HH.

If a Top 100 OL from PA visits Penn St. 13 times yet still picks ND, Harry should be easily be considered the best OL coach/recruiter in the country HANDS DOWN. What a guy he is....seriously.

Geez. Sounds like someone needs to remind Loy that that hasn't stopped him before.

Hmmmm... What exactly are we saying here?

He's the man, but he still needs to land one of two more this cycle--we've been short lately. Partially because VanGorder uses him to recruit DL.
