It would be sweeeeeeet to get a flip from Echols and/or to make a big move for Beal.

Add MacCollister on top of that, and DL recruiting looks really nice.

Is that reasonable to think?

I wouldn't say 20% chance is calling for rain. But I'm sure the % it'll go up or down by the time it comes around, we'll see. Hopefully it's a shiny day on the dome.

It was 60% and calling for showers when I posted that. Glad to see that it's looking better.

I'm hoping for a commitment from Daley and positive movement on Beal. Those two with Hayes already in the fold will give ND a pretty scary pass rush moving forward.

Positive movement for Beal would be just showing up, which I doubt even happens.

Not based on any new info, but he reached out to ND with his interest, plans to visit for multiple days for II, and Loy said early on that a flip is a possibility.

So there isn't any smoke or anything yet, but the situation for a flip will present itself if he goes through with the visit.

Someone on the isd board is saying he read somewhere that he's scheduled to be at FSU's camp the same weekend.

That would be unfortunate ... although the sourcing for the rumor seems a bit dubious.

Loy said if Beal shows up, it wouldn't be a surprise if he committed. He doesn't expect that to happen, but it wouldn't surprise him. Did not comment on the FSU alleged visit date.

Does anything really surprise Loy? I mean when you already know everything it's kinda hard to be surprised.

Loy Translation: "I have no clue what this prospect is doing but it would be a positive for ND if he shows up to their major summer camp event so I think I'll throw out there that the prospect is legally allowed to commit to ND if he so chooses and those chances increase if he shows up in his physical form to said camp."

He'll look great if he's right and if he's not, he'll just hide behind his "sources" and say that its recruiting crazy stuff happens. They put out a piece this morning where Beal is at the top of the list for possible commits, but then hedges his bets on the board. Hype piece for click bait, followed by buffer for when its wrong.

I also love the "cover our asses for not reporting things by saying we had the info a long time ago, when really we were clueless like everyone else."

The plan was for 2018 Top100 LB Matt Bauer of Erie, PA to be at Irish Invasion if his baseball schedule permitted. His top ranked Cathedral Prep baseball team is playing today in the state tourney. If they lose it sounds like he comes. If they win, he won't as they'll play again Monday.

He's going to be an IE fan favorite next year.

Casteel isn't 100% yet. He's trying to finalize it. He's coming with Elijah Gates if so. I was hoping he would make it. He's a very good 2 way player and he is going to rocket up the CA rankings this season. I'll post his profile after I update the list.

So we have 9 DE's from '17 coming to II. That is very good news. Our biggest need IMO.

Biggest need for me is DT. Didn't bring in any last year. DE is a close second but at Okwara, Kareem, and Hayes were brought in last year. DT could be in serious trouble if we don't get good players out of this class.

Yessir, you are correct. There's a bunch of DT's on our current roster (Tiassum, Dew-Treadway, Mokwuah, Taylor) that have at least 2 years of eligibility but we have no idea if any of them will pan out. Of the guys I mentioned Mokwuah is the only player who has seen the field (I believe) and I'd be very surprised if he ended up being a big impact guy. DT IS probably the most important position for '17. Just seems like a lot of the 'blue-chip' DT's in HS are either not interested in ND, often don't have the academics or aren't interested in academics or are from the south and want to stay in the south. I could be wrong but it seems to be this way and it's really frustrating.

All of that being said, I really do hope one of the mentioned DT's excels soon. They all had good tape coming out of HS.

Nothing official yet that I've seen but his team lost yesterday so he's free next weekend.

Nice. I figured that if his team was a top team going into the tourney, they would have the worst team in the tourney seeded against them in the first round.

Well, it was the 2nd round but they were playing a team that was just a few games over .500 while they were 21-3. So.... they got 1 hit and lost 1-0. That's baseball.

He's at Rivals Five Star Challenge so he should be at II next weekend.
