"I get a lot of letters from them, a lot of hand-written letters,” Alexander responded when asked if Notre Dame had been in contact with him. “I get letters from Charlie Weis asking me to send my highlight tape after the season."

"Pitt and Penn State and all the northern school want me to play receiver, so I'll probably end up staying up north.”
I really want to see ND offer this kid. Anytime we can steal one from JoePa's territory, I'm all for it.

B&G is reporting that A.J. has received an ND Official Offer. A.J. is now also on Rivals 250 to Watch list for 2008.

A.J. plays QB in high school, but he projects as a WR in college. He also ran a 4.3 40 at the Scout combine.

I live in Altoona and I can tell you most of the Locals would jump off a bridge if this kid went anywhere other than PSU. I have seen him play, he is very fast, could go to D1 on a track Scholie

ND doesn't seem to have much of a shot with A.J. right now. It currently seems like he has more interest in playing in the SEC, or ACC.

In the category of leaving no stone unturned, and also to show you just how hard the ND coaches are working, AJ Alexander, a longer than long shot for the Irish, reports that he hears from ND coaches just about every day. Not only that, CW is planning on visiting AJ on May 11, and Ianello & Latina are planning on visiting him separately from the CW visit.

If they continue to recruit him as a WR they are just wasting there time and most likely are anyways but he's only going to a school that will use him like Reggie Bush. I wouldn't mind him as an All-Purpose RB but I would want Carlton Thomas and Sam McGuffie before AJ Alexander.

Not that it makes any difference, but the last thing I read said that they are now recruiting him as Running Back/Slot Receiver.

He wants to play RB and play in the warm weather(SEC) and we do not fit into those two categories, i don't want him anyway, we need bigger recievers who want to be recievers.

The thing that most of the kids don't understand is that a wideout only has to beat one person out in the open and then they can score. You get a guy with speed in the open and let him work, wideout is the spot to do that. Being like Reggie Bush is not a common thing that is what made him such a good player. That being said you see how he is used in the NFL they try to get him out in open space so he can work. AA will be used like that in CW offense and then some of these guys will see what CW is talking about when he is recruiting them at wideout.

I know he's a RB but he will catch alot of passes(swings and check downs) and do great things when he does.

PSU doesn't have hotbeds in Penn. anymore, they go elsewhere. They need to get JoePa. out of there and bring someone young and energenic to get their recruiting back up.

This is a stunner to me. He comes out of a PSU hotbed.

It should not be. A.J. has said all along that he did not want to play college football in colder climates, and that it was his intention to play either in the ACC or the SEC. The funny thing is that on Saturday, despite all of that talk, there was a story that he had changed his mind & narrowed his choices to PSU & Pitt. Just to show how bogus most of these stories can be, A.J. commits to FSU the next day.

What is it July and I have already seen several de-committments this year. Oh boy I think it's going to be worse than last year. If anybody does it this year knowing Weis' policy I will have less respect for them than the Littles.
