Keep searching Google...i'll wait

What exactly am I supposed to be googling? Are you trying to say that no one other than Trump would be eligible to win a brokered convention? That's simply not true. I don't need google for that.

I surely don't need Google, son. Why spew the same talking points that all candidates have??? I think he is the one who can get it done and have no faith in the others.

But if a short list would make you happy..

Simplify the tax code
Repeal the ACA
Invest in mental health
Immigration reform
Reform education...give it back where it belongs
End SuperPacs
Climate change
Vet healthcare
Chiiiiina

..one could go on and on but why bother?

Because.. oh, I don't know... maybe that's the point of this thread?

You still haven't articulated any policy positions. You've just given a couple words in a typical Trump-esque sound bite.

For example, what about his "simplified" tax code do you like? What does "Chiiiina" mean and how exactly is the "better" trade agreement going to look?

You can't answer these questions, because Trump doesn't even answer these questions. That's why you've now made like a half dozen posts dancing around the fact that deep down in your heart you know you and your candidate are beyond ignorant about anything having to do with actually governing this country.

Son.

Have a good night....i can't fix blind...and ignorant.

Maybe you should read up a bit on Trump/the other candidates and not blindly dismiss him.

I'm not running or here to regurgitate the talking points. I'm just picking winners baby

I have to say you've really mastered the whole Trump thing.

At least now you're not complaining about mythical posts that never existed being deleted. It's more straightforward crazy that doesn't require investigation.

I have, which is why I'm able to ask intelligent, pointed questions and why you can't respond.

To be fair - he asked specific questions that you refused to answer directly aside from acting like a complete asshat. Personally, I would love to know what I'm missing on Trump - what is it about his policy that is new, different, and will work where others have failed? What is it about his demeanor, his wealth, behavior that makes you think he'll effectively work with leaders of other nations (and our own)?

You do realize that neither have any misgivings about actually beating Trump in delegates at this point, right? Do you understand how a brokered convention works? That isn't meant as an insult. I honestly do not think you fully grasp how this whole system works.

Fully and totally understand it. Do you?

Right now Trump is the only candidate even eligible...you understand that, right?

I can read, apparently far better than you. Above is our original back and forth. I clearly told you that neither Cruz nor Rubio have any misgivings about beating Trump in delegates. I fully understand that Trump hit the threshold of being the only candidate being eligible for the nomination through delegates. WHICH HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH MY POINT.

My point... Again... Is that he isn't the nominee yet. Which you are failing to grasp because you don't understand how a brokered convention works. See, if Trump doesn't get to the magic number to actually WIN (opposed to be being the only one eligible to get there... Stay with me) the nomination, then it will go to convention. The second layer of the convention could literally nominate any candidate with the right amount of votes on the floor. State delegates be damned.

I feel like you owe me $5 for this civics lesson you forced me to type out on my phone.

You asked some points i agree with...i supplied them. If you care to know more about them look into. I'm not here to type out pages long paragraphs on why i like those points...people have made up their mind for the most part and that's all good.

I totally understand how a brokered convention works...could teach a class on it.

There will be no brokered convention if cruz does not qualify...is that hard to understand? It's not out of the realm of possibility that we won't even qualify. I'm sure you know what it takes to be eligible???

I thought you were going to bed? I guess you're just full of it in everything you say/do.

I asked, quite specifically, in #7834 for a single policy position and why you support it.

As of right now, you haven't articulated a single policy position in a complete sentence nor explained even in the briefest of details why you support it.

"I'm not here to type pages" yet you've made a dozen posts since then... none of them of any substance.

Again, I applaud how well you've perfected "The Trump."

My god... You literally are too obnoxious to be a real person. Please don't ever teach that class...

Under Rule 40b of the Republican National Convention rules, a candidate must have the support of a majority of the delegates of at least eight states in order to get the nomination. Rule 40e then states that if no candidate has received the majority of votes, "the chairman of the convention shall direct the roll of the states be called again and shall repeat the calling of the roll until a candidate shall have received a majority of the votes."[8]

Like i said posted some points, don't care to type paragraphs about it. I can make 100's of posts in the time it would take to hit everything point by point. This is a ND/sports forum foremost and find little to be gained posting the same things you can read on the internet about candidate talking points.

Sorry we disagree on the next POTUS...but those are the breaks.

I wanted you to be able to recognize the severity of your own actions. You can have a grown up conversation or you can act like somebody that lacks common decency by scoffing while you act like a know it all, while not supplying any information. The tone in your writing is rude and ignorant - which is a big problem that voters have with Donald Trump. We don't NEED to like Trump - but would you want to work for someone like him? Would you want him in charge of a diplomatic sumit with North Korea, China, Russia, anyone in the Middle East? Do you think he'll be able to deliver on 25% of his promises or will he be the most inefficient POTUS in history due to pissing off both parties? Do you know anything about Bernie Sanders, Hilary Clinton, Gary Johnson, or Ted Cruz or are you like the redneck/peckerwood racists I work with that want Trump because he hates women, Muslims, and Hispanics?

THAT SIR, is absolutely hilarious coming from you.

I will take that as the best compliment i've ever received in the open forum. Ranks right up there with some of the positive reps i've received for past posts.

THANK YOU

Brokered/open convention seems unlikely going forward with a bunch of the winner-take-all states that seem to completely favor Trump in a 3-man race. He seems to beat Cruz in the red states and beat Kasich in the blue states....maybe Cruz or Kasich dropping out ASAP could keep Trump from getting to 1,237 but I just don't see that happening anytime soon. Going forward, the map favors Trump pretty big time on top of that.

As someone who is in the anyone-but-Hillary camp, I've been bracing for Trump since about November once I saw this sorry group of candidates and it became obvious no one was going to step up. He is horrible with specifics, but most of his broad ideas have enough appeal that I think the RNC can work with him to make it a very competitive general election. At least the Trump/Hillary debates will be entertaining...they should be PPV events.

WOW..no idea we had that many of those kind people. Great generalization and very telling. Guess half the Country are redneck/peckerwood racists.....no wonder the country is going to hell.

My tone is neither rude or ignorant...arrogant maybe, but when you are right you're right.

I also know eveything i need to know about
Clinton- Liar who's bought and paid for
Sanders- Socialist I'm tired of free shit for lazy people
Cruz- another liar, own party not a fan, creepy
Kasich- actually like him but he has ZERO chance at this point. Sat back and said nothing far too long

So you don't know how a brokered convention works then. Got it.

He's talking about rule 40b. To be eligible for a brokered convention a candidate needs to have won at least 8 states. Right now Cruz is at 7 and Kasich is at 1. Of the remaining 20 states if somehow Kasich won 6, Cruz won 0, and Trump won the other 14 without hitting 1,237 then technically he would win by default.

It's funny because the whole reason I originally asked for ONE policy position articulated and an explanation of why you support it is that you can do it in 2-3 sentences.

You can't... sorry, you "choose" not to... so you dance around the issue and try to bully people into letting you off the hook. You make laughable excuses about the "time" it will take while typing up 500+ words of nothing. You try to say you shouldn't have to explain a political point in a politics thread because "it's a ND/sports forum"... while continuing to make dozens of posts specifically about Trump, the elections, and politics. Huh?

But they can write out rule 40b at any time, so people truly should put zero weight in it whatsoever. It only exists because of a strategic play made in 2012. SIAP, but here's a decent article on it:

Another excellent, Trump-esque response. You're a pro. The fact that you keep at it and continue to embarrass yourself is a testament to your dedication to the craft.

Keep the neg reps flowing, buddy. Either you're going to stand up and say something of substance, or you're not. If you want to continue to blather incoherently then I'm going to continue to call you out on it.

That article and the rule have been talked to death. I deal will things as they currently are..not what may or may not happen. I don't see many running to change it to endorse Cruz. Politicians seem to very scared of Trump ending their free ride.
