So who starts next week over Burgett? Ryan or Colson? I'm leaning Ryan.

You gotta assume Ryan right now. He is definitely out of his funk and at the perfect time.

Is it me or is Farrell quicker then DJ? If Farrell can just keep he ball under control and keep his head up then he is a solid option

You just can't play DJ at this point. You gotta see what you got on the bench, and come back to him if we get behind. He has no confidence again. NC State knows it, and are literally playing off of him in their zone.

It's kinda sad to see.

Exactly why I said I hope Farrell was gonna start second half cause DJ just can't seem to get anything going

There we go. He sits for a few, watch's Rex bury 2 more, comes in a gets 5 straight.

I'll give him this - he shot volume and aggressiveness goes down when he's struggling. But when he hits the court again after a rest, he goes right back after it.

This may be big for us in the Tournament. I don't like us playing Colsen as an undersized 4. With Ryan playing like he is, and hell, even playing Vasturia at an undersized 3, we can go back to spreading the floor like we have in the past.

Edit: Make that 8 straight.

Farrell has so much bounce in his step. He played well with DJ too when they were in together. He 100% should be getting minutes if this is what the offense will look like. He helped the spacing out so much.

If he plays like he did today, I'd have no problem seeing him get 15 or so minutes going forward. Add in Torres for short spurts, and I'd love to see a 9-man rotation for the tournaments. Burgett should really only be used in emergencies IMO.

I 100% agree.

We haven't scored this much for almost a month all the way back when we scored 89 against clemson

Good win. We've locked down either the #4 or #5 seed for next week. We get the #4 if UNC can beat Duke tonight.

If we are the #5 seed, we play the winner of #12 NC State and #13 Wake Forest. Then we would play #4 Duke/Virginia.

If we are the #4 seed, we play the winner of #5 Duke and NC State/Wake in the Quarterfinals.

Hey look the bench guys killed it.

Good thing it only took 30 games to figure out they can play lolol

Are you this negative about everything in your life? Holy shit, you've been posting on this board for a month and I think all 68 posts have had a negative undertone.

Only if it's Brey related lol. He is a joke

I think Kelly has been through the absolute ringer and yet has basically saved ND football.

I was thrilled with last season. I think ND's floor next year is 10 wins.

I decided to start posting here because some people are funny as shit and don't pull punches, plus NDnation and the rivals boards suck.

Meh

Brey is a 'joke,' and yet with no facilities and a program with much less prominence than the football program (affecting recruiting) he has a similar winning % here as Kelly.

Honestly don't care who wins UNC/Duke. A top four finish in the ACC would look nice on our tourney resume but I wouldn't mind getting another very winnable game against NC st/Wake before a potential tough matchup against Duke/Virgina and possibly getting bounced in our first ACC tournament game.

First of all, in a sense I actually like Brey. It's fun to have a goofball as a coach and he gives good soundbites.

BK is at 71% and Brey is at 67%. The difference is that each season Brey gets ~10 free wins (out of 30 games). BK maybe gets 1 or 2 out of 12.

For example, here are some basketball opponents from the 2007-2008 season (first season wiki had an article for):
Long Island
Monmouth
Youngstown State
Colgate
Eastern Michigan
Northern Illinois
San Franciso
Brown
North Florida

And BK gets a top-15 recruiting class every year. Brey is lucky to get a top-30 recruiting class.

Maybe that is because of BK's recruiting prowess and Brey's incompetence. Or, it might be because of ND's football history and relative lack of basketball success (i.e. titles).

It would also help to have say, maybe half the football fan support, roll over to the basketball team?

I'd love to see the percentage of "ND football fans" that even remotely care about the basketball team. And by love to see, I'm sure it would be super depressing. I wouldn't be surprised if it were below 10%.

Everyone seems to have us as a #7 seed right now...although I think that is a big optimistic.

SOS: 32
RPI: 35
Kenpom: 38
Sagarin: 35
BPI: 32

Those computer numbers alone put as us at an 8/9 seed although they don't tell the whole story. We're 4-4 against the RPI Top-25 which is a big boost. Although we're going to end the season 6-6 our final 12 games (which is a metric the committee uses) if we lose to Duke in the Quarterfinals. I'm worried it's going to take one win next week to get us safely away from an 8/9 seed.

I have the same fear. We are looking at a 8/9 seed and hopefully against an easy one seed but you know with our luck we will play Kansas

Still, to call him a 'joke' is absolutely ridiculous and shows zero knowledge of the men's game. Unless you were completely joking, it was a pathetic post IMHO.

Didn't know where to post this but what Buzz Williams did at Va Tech with his players and the National Anthem was pretty awesome. Can't embed the video as I am at work. Kudos to Buzz.

Great day for us with seeding. We were pretty unanimously a #7 seed coming into the day. Bracket Matrix (which seeds every team based on online bracket predictions) had Wisconsin as a stronger #7 seed than us and they lost. They had Texas and Iowa as #6 seeds and they both lost. Iowa State was listed as a #5 and they lost.

I think we should have locked up a #6 seed for the tournament and there is certainly potential to move up with UNC next and then maybe UVA/Miami.

I think this is a must win today for ND... They need to get up to a 5 seed if they want to make sweet 16 IMO
