Just was at Mount Carmel today, always daunting to go down their Hall with all the Championship trophies and actually see how many guys they have sent to the league, or D1.

I miss the days of Mount Carmel, St. Rita, Brother Rice & Joliet Catholic being THE cornerstones of HS football in Chicagoland... (along with the pagans at CVS). There's just nothing cool about Wheaton Warrenville South, Glenbard West or any generic Subdivision Central being #1. ...and I lived in Naperville.

I would argue its still very prevalent. I went to Marist myself. For Catholic League members, or former Catholic league teams, This year alone Marist went the State, St. Laurence went to the Semis, JCA went to Quarters, lost to Nazareth (Julian Loves school and in ESCC) Rita, Carmel lost 2nd round but won state in 12, 13, Rice went to Quarters, Loyola beat Marist at state, Rita had a down year, and Providence won State last year.

Still a lot to like at the Catholic schools around Chicago.

I haven't lived there since 2000 so I'm glad to hear that. Back in the 70's & 80's, there would be coverage on 2,5,7,9 & 32 of Catholic League games. It seemed so mythical to me as a youngster, just like ND. We drove over from Indiana to see Mount Carmel beat Simeon when I was in high school, waaaay back in the day.

Opened up as the #7 CB and #29 OA on Rivals100.

I wonder if he's going to Illinois this weekend for the Illini game? Would have liked to have seen him in South Bend this weekend. Illinois has their spring game tomorrow and Lovie has created a little buzz. 2018 target Micah Jones is going (though he was just in South Bend for a visit)

Coming to II. Pretty sure it's in the II thread but didn't see it in the 2017 section.... just updating his thread.

Thought the Irish had him tucked away, safe and sound in Chicago. Now he's down there in enemy territory.

Good news is, his junior tape will be the truth.

Notre Dame has recruited IMG better than Chicago

Come on now. '16 is the only year ND did better with IMG than Chicagoland when Tony Jones and Spencer Perry sandwiched Julian Love.
