Announced he's leaving Calabasas HS (CA) to attend where else, IMG Academy

Four-star sophomore WR Brian Hightower transfers to IMG Academy | USA Today High School Sports | USA Today High School Sports

Had an incredible Soph year, leading his team with: 71 rec.....1344 yds.....14 TD's

Very good numbers. What makes it incredible is he did it sharing targets with 5 star - Darnay Holmes and 4 star Keyshawn Johnson Jr.

Maxpreps Sophomore 2nd Team All American

Coached by Casey Clausen at Calabasas.

You'd have to assume it's just a matter of time before he gets an offer.

When it gets interesting? You're behind on the times. Harbaugh has already planted the tree that he plans to climb into the kid's bedroom.

Better be a big tree for a Hightower.

I'm here all week, two shows on Saturday and as always try the veal, Whiskey highly recommends it.

I don't know anything about the cartoon but I remember the character for some reason. Immediately came to mind when I saw the pic.

Guys...he definitely looks much more like Gohan. Not Goku or Vegeta. I'm sure ACamp would agree with me.

Hasn't been back to the site, but he made a comment on the Facebook page, so thankfully he is alive.

Perhaps ND should recruit at IMG and nowhere else. That team is absolutely stacked with talent, seemingly at every position.

Freebie from Rivals' Rob Cassidy:

https://n.rivals.com/news/hightower-talks-notre-dame-offer-names-early-favorites-

“I’ve actually always wanted to play college out east,” Hightower said on Thursday. “It’s just been, like, I either want to play in the ACC, the SEC or the Big 12 or the Big 10. I’ve never wanted to play in the Pac 12. The only Pac 12 school I was ever interested in was USC. “

When you know that about Hightower his list of early frontrunners isn’t so surprising. Things will likely change between now and Signing Day 2018, but Hightower doesn’t mind sharing a short list of favorite programs.

“I’d say definitely Auburn, Alabama, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Michigan,” he said.

Hightower’s most recent offer arrived from Notre Dame on Thursday night. It seems to have made a special kind of impact, as the IMG academy standout says he has been waiting for its arrival. After all, there’s a reason the Irish immediately became one of his frontrunners.

“I know a lot about Notre Dame because it’s been an offer I’ve been wanting for awhile,” Hightower said. “I’ve always like the tradition there, and I always watched them play growing up. It’s just an offer I really wanted.”

Freebie from Anna @Scout/II

IMG sophomore WR discusses Irish - Notre Dame - Scout

One of the nation’s top underclassmen, regardless of position, is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG wide receiver Brian Hightower.
Notre Dame offered the 6-foot-3, 196-pound athlete on March 24.
“I knew they were thinking about offering because they had been talking to some of my teammates and some of the older guys that they’ve recruited about me. When I talked to coach (Autry) Denson about the offer, that was actually the first time we’ve ever talked.”
Notre Dame signed two from IMG in 2016, mid-year enrollee safety Spencer Perry and running back Tony Jones Jr.
“It’s a tradition-filled and winning program,” Hightower said. “They put a lot of people in the NFL, and the academics are great.”
Hightower holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, UCLA and Washington.
He’s still almost two years away from signing a letter of intent, but four programs have separated themselves from the pack.
“I’m not really sure of my favorites, but I’ll get there eventually,” Hightower said. “Florida, Nebraska, Tennessee and Alabama are recruiting me the hardest right now, though and I have good relationships with those schools.
Hightower transferred to IMG from Calabasas (Calif.) three months ago. Despite his ties to the West Coast, he doesn’t necessarily envision a return to the West Coast for college.
“Location doesn’t matter,” Hightower said. “It really doesn’t. Coaches are going to be the biggest thing for me. Just how they are with the players and how they build those relationships with the guys they coach and the people around them.”
Scout national analyst Greg Biggins believes Hightower possesses a high ceiling.
“He has soft hands and catches everything away from his body, has excellent timing in jump ball situations, is a smooth route runner, very good body control and is even a willing blocker. Hightower is one of those players where the game just looks easy for him and he has a chance to be as good as he wants to be down the line.”
“I’m an all-around wide receiver,” Hightower said. “I can take a screen to the house or I can go for the deep ball.”
Hightower has tentative plans to visit Alabama on Friday and Auburn on Saturday with a few of his IMG teammates.

The ONLY thing about ND in the article after gushing all over clemson is that he has high interest in Clemson, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, USC and UCLA

I'd say the most important thing here is if Bookie Radley-Hiles is as serious about ND as he says he is. These Calabasas kids stick together.

“Coach Denbrock was talking to me before I showed up here at IMG,” said Hightower, who is originally from California. “Then I started talking to coach Denson. I definitely want to get up there for a visit. That’s definitely going to be one of my top schools.”

“Those are guys I look up to,” said Hightower, regarding a few players that eventually ended up at Notre Dame. “I was younger and I saw Javon McKinley play all the time. I know my friend, [2018 four-star running back] T.J. Pledger, he’s big on Notre Dame too. I’ll probably get to Notre Dame on a visit with him.”

“I like him,” said Hightower of Denson. “I’ve developed a great relationship with him since he recruits the area and at IMG.”

has high interest in

“Clemson, Notre Dame, UCLA, Ohio State.”

HOWEVER on the 247 Bartow reported at IMG media day today he had this to say ----Said Clemson has the edge on Nebraska, USC, Alabama, UCLA and Ohio State
