As a kite obviously.

Dude, people in Indy are livid.

As they should be, we don't deserve this shit! We have one of the most promising young QBs in the NFL and we are stuck with one of the shittiest unproven GMs and an unproven HC. We are now the laughing stock of the NFL IMO. Why we didn't take a page out of the Pats book and learn what they are doing is beyond me.

Just BS!
End of rant for now!

woke up at 4am this AM and read the news...

LOL

I'm not at all unhappy with Chuck staying, but Grigson is nothing more than a bag of stupid dicks.
Hoping they have at least prioritized drafting OL and D the next 3 years.

Edit... and I did say a while ago I thought Chuck would be extended lol

This is horrible. What complete dumpster fire. If I'm Luck, there's simply no way I even consider resigning with this franchise. Even if they dedicate the entire draft to o line, which is what we need, the secondary, d line and rb positions are still sub par at best. We just became the Browns, FFS.

From what I hear, Luck is a fan of Chuck. At least that's what a family member told me that used to work around Manning/Colts. Perhaps that's the reason for the extension?

Makes no sense at all to keep them. People would be jumping at the HC and GM spot with Luck there. Luck's cap hit goes from $7,000,000 to $16,000,000 next year and will only go up once he signs his mega-deal. It's just going to get tougher to fill out the roster once he is making top-QB money. Not sure why anyone would trust Grigson with building a roster around that contract. As for Pagano, he seems like the definition of an average coach. You guys could 100% do better. I know the injury situation was bad, but it was just as bad in Houston.

Pagano has 44 wins in his first four years. Compare that to the other teams.

I'm ok with the Pagano extension, what pisses me off is that we are going to relive this year next year. What changes? NOTHING. We will have another shitty draft and not get any help on the O-line or defense to help Luck.

Thanks Irsay, thanks a lot!

I have to believe there were some specific discussions about the draft and getting Chuck some help.

Id be ok with keeping Pagano if Grigson is gone. Pagano is average, which we can do even better but oh well. Grigson is a moron, drafting Dorsett first round was worthless when we had about every position to fill besides wr and qb. And as said his signings have been shit too, how does he keep his job?

Grigson was following the Polian model. surround your QB with receivers.

The look on Grigson's face tells me he's not happy, but he'll gladly take the extension as opposed to filing for unemployment.

Bellicheat was a losing coach before he went to NE.

I also heard that Luck is a huge supporter of Pagano which explains a lot.

how Grigson ever survived the Trent Richardson fiasco is beyond me

It's pretty detailed how he's done against non-divisional opponents.

Also, 2012 was an amazing coach job by all, but Arians went 9-3 and Chuck went 2-2.

He's a solid coach and seems like a very nice guy who the players love. Re-signing him makes sense if it's the difference between keeping Luck and having him hit free agency. I just think you guys could do better. Maybe I'm wrong, but with Luck there I thought an Indy opening would be the college version of the Texas job opening up.

Total bullshit. Any other team would have fired Grigson. Horrible drafting, horrible FA signings, and Trent F'ing Richardson. That gets you an extension?

As much as it pains me to say this the model for running a franchise as far as player development and drafts are the Patriots, Cardinals, and the Packers.

Say what you want but they don't have many misses when it comes to personnel and the Packers are the model franchise when it comes to developing from within.

Why in the hell wouldn't we get someone from these frachises to help our sorry team is beyond me.

Damn you IRSAY!

Irsay has had his problems with drugs, but he's been one of the better owners in the league. He let's his coaches coach and lets the GM do his thing. He has a good track record with the community donating a lot of money to charities. This is the first questionable decision he's made IMO.

Yup, if he could give up pills and twitter, I'd be a fan...

Let's see who Irsay brings in now. Peyton?

No Peyton, yet. Probably get another experiment. I still think Pagano isn't out of the woods, regardless of what irsay said. This thing remains fluid.

Round 1, Pick 15 (No. 15 overall) Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State

Round 2, Pick 14 (No. 46) Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida

Round 3, Pick 16 (No. 80) Tarell Basham, DE, Ohio

Round 4, Pick 31 (No. 137) Zach Banner, OT, USC

Round 4, Pick 37 (No. 143) Marlon Mack, RB, USF

Round 4, Pick 38 (No. 144) Grover Stewart, DT, Albany State

Round 5, Pick 14 (No. 158) Nate Hairston, CB, Temple

Round 5, Pick 17 (No. 161) Anthony Walker, LB, Northwestern

I like the picks overall but I have concerns about Hooker staying healthy and his tackling issues. I also wonder what the plan is for Banner, I think hes to slow to play either tackle position and I wonder if he might be too tall to play the interior positions.

I guess like every other draft only time will tell how our first year GM does but I already like him more than the last clown we had.

I thought you guys had a nice draft, bkess. Addressed needs, didn't reach for anybody and got good value.

Overall I think the Colts did well this year. Got some good talent at positions of need and as Wooly points out didn't reach. I like the trade down with SF to get the extra 5th round pick. Also think Mack can be a good back for them.

Colts looking to take a share of the AFC South lead tonight. Did not think they'd be anything but cellar dwellers without Luck. Thank goodness the division sucks.

Only 3 AFC teams with 4 or more wins through week 6. Mediocrity... NFC not much better.

Miami might have 4 wins if it wasn't for the hurricane.
