Pretty sure he was acl which I think is much worse than what this doctor is saying

Not according to that Dr.'s quote. He is saying the injury he suspect's Jaylon has is much worse than an ACL. That is why I posed my question about 1st rd, etc.

You're right

I read that wrong

Well damn

Truly sucks!

I literally made a comment to people I was watching with about the OSU guys who announced leaving early before the game might be packing it in to avoid injury and then this happens to Jaylon.

If this injury is as bad as the good Twitter doc makes it out to be I'd be kind of surprised if Jaylon goes pro now. If he's not going to be a top 10-15 pick there's no reason to. He can rehab on ND, get his degree and hopefully play his way back up next year (or maybe the year after?).

When does he have to decide by?

Damn, this really sucks. And coming from him, with what all of you have said his knowledge is...he is probably right. Much worse that what I was told. Prayers for Jaylon.

How did Decker get away with that late unnecessary hit?

Where are Smith's teammates? Someone should have dived at Deckers knees.

I was hoping for the exact same thing. He did it again in a pileup later in the game, shoved Schmidt (I think) from behind.

I wanted someone to step up and show some freaking attitude.

Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith, who suffered a knee injury today, has a $5M loss of value policy. Starts to collect $ if he slips out of 1st rd.

I always thought Jaylon should go to the NFL.

But if he has an mcl, acl whatever this late in the process, I think he should stay for his senior year and lead ND to a national championship.

That was a bullshit late push that was completely uncalled for. I hope karma pays him a visit....

Actually a bit surprised it's not more, though I guess he would have acquired it before this season.
No idea what the implications of that might be on his stay/go decision at this point, but I'm sure there are implications.

I hate Decker. First jumping ship as a recruit and lying to the staff and now this.

I doubt he'd even be able to play next year.

I agree sadly. Gurley hurt his knee in November and he missed the first few weeks this season for the Rams. If this is an injury worse than an ACL then that doesn't bode well for him being ready by September.

It's all about what his injury actually. Fully torn ACL or worse, and he likely wouldn't even see the field next year. Partial tear of MCL? He'd be back by fall camp and damn near 100%.

You guys need to chill on Decker. Hits like that happen on every play

I'm sick for Jaylon. Fucking devastated.

I found this to be pretty informative since I knew very little about the PCL injury that is being speculated he suffered: PCL Tear - SportsMD

We don't really know a ton about the injury at this point, and even the diagnosis is just speculation, albeit pretty well-informed speculation. But it seems that the specific diagnosis and degree of the tear is very important. Assuming the Twitter doc is correct about the injury being a PCL, if it isn't a complete tear he likely wouldn't even need surgery. I know it looked very similar to Chubb's injury, but everyone's body is different so I'm not sure you can determine what happened inside someone's knee just from watching the injury occur. Also, Chubb damaging the lateral ligament along with the PCL is apparently a complicating factor for him. Hopefully somehow Jaylon avoided that. Fingers crossed.

Dont blame the Decker kid. He was playing to the whistle, and the block wasn't malicious; something our kids could learn from.

He was blocking him. It was a freak injury. Get over it. They blew our doors off.

The play was over, he wasn't even facing him face-on. It was only a freak injury if you don't consider malice. Them blowing our doors off has absolutely NOTHING to do with this, but agreed.

EDIT: rewatched the hit, it wasn't late, but I still think it was dirty. Bordered on a block in the back. Jaylon was trying to get up, not even facing him. He could have gotten in front of Jaylon, but instead he threw a should to his side/backside. If Jaylon saw him coming he likely would have been able to brace for the hit and not landed awkwardly.

I just think a lot of people's frustration about this play have to do with the final result. I hate Ohio State more than the next guy, and cursed Meyer for 10 minutes after the game, but never once thought this play was anything but bad luck for Jaylon.

Freak injury, sure. But from the second that Jaylon hit the turf the first time, Decker had it in him that he was going to give him another shot. Maybe not malicious or dirty, but unnecessary. My conclusion: f*ck him, his coach, and the program he's a part of.

Terrible result, but it wasn't dirty IMO. Such a typical play. Jarron got hurt from Schmidt taking a similar shove from a teammate in August. Do we all think McGlinchey is a dirty player too? Quite frankly, I want to see our OL finish a play like that. Not saying it's the difference between our line play being soft/tough (news flash: our OL has been soft for years), but I see nothing wrong with what Decker did.

Probably the first time that I have literally felt sick from an injury, but it wasn't malicious. Just horrible luck. Part of me thinks Bosa saw that injury and realized he was playing in a meaningless game and got the targeting on purpose. His hit on Kizer did not look natural at all. Led with the crown, finished with the crown, and didn't wrap up at all.

Thoughts and prayers for Jaylon. I may not be able to stand OSU, but in all honesty, I did not see that play by Decker as dirty. He did not dive at his knees or anything. Just a push with a very unfortunate result. I think all the Decker hate is just emotion at us getting waxed by OSU and Jaylon's unfortunate injury.

On 247 a poster said he financed 50k for a 5 million dollar insurance policy if he slips out of the first round.

Yeah. Darren Rovell reported that last night.
I know these insurance policies are fairly new but does anyone understand the finer details? I.e can he collect if he stays in school? Or can he renew it another year after an injury like this? Or does it essentially force his hand to declare now and collect if he falls in the draft?
