The cherry taste could be interesting. I sometimes gets that from bourbon but I more associate figs, plums and dates with quads.

No comment on the whiskies?

Yeah, just certain tastes that turn me off w/beers.

Sorry, meant to. That is an impressive list! You had me at Pappy!

Not a problem.

Oddly Pappy is my least favorite whisky on that list. I like sherried whiskies for Christmas. New Years Eve is always my big whisky night. Thinking of going with some Caol Ila 25yo, Cragganmore 21yo, Talisker 25yo, and Lagavulin 21yo along with a few others. May have to pour one of my 40yo whiskies.

Karazuiwa 1985 24yo Sherry cask. An amazing Japanese whisky. Sad to say that this distillery is long gone.

A good half bottle of Chianti Classico and then some of Amaro Luxardo catching up with a friend over il bel paese. Luckily I'm not the one who had to drive.

Score of the century!!!

Local Von's (Safeway) is going out of business and they had two grocery carts full of single beer bottles for sale at 50% off but the price was not listed. So i took a Dogfish Head 60 Min Continually Hopped IPA up to the front for a price check and the Manager tells me anything you want 50 cents. I am now the proud Father of a cart full of beer. Half of the stock was Angry Orchard so I left that for someone with that sorta taste.

I started with the Continually Hopped and then moved to Firestone Walker Union Jack IPA.

I also got FW 805, FW DBA, Lagunitas IPA, Sucks and Maximus. 3 or 4 different Kona's and some Lost Coast Great White.

Surprisingly, I've only had Dogfish Head once before. I remember being under whelmed with it then and am now also. It's so thin compared to Westcoast IPA's. It does have a pleasant taste though and at 50 cents it's a no complainer.

Went to a few breweries for the first time in MSP. Found out I like some dark beers, oatmeal/chocolate porters are the bees knees.

Which ones?

Dangerous Man is fantastic. The Peanut Butter Porter is legit as is the Chocolate Milk Stout.

Northbound Smokehouse and Brewpub is also really good. The smoked porter is fantastic as is the food.

Also been to Surly, which everyone in MSP should do.

I need to get back to MSP and knock off a few more that are there.

Nice haul. Especially the SUCKS, Maximus, and Union Jack. I completely agree with you about Dogfish Head.

Anyone had Resin from Sixpoint Brewery? 103 IBU, kinda ridiculous, but delicious? The hoppiest beer I've ever had. 120 minute is water compare to this.
