I remember reading something similar but I'm fairly certain BK and Swarbrick could find a way to take 6 should we have that many knocking at the door.

Our class is so prime this year, especially in areas we need help. According to rivals: we got four 4* DBs, a 4* rush and strong DE each not counting Hayes who is listed as a 5* LB and is now the center of a very well rounded class. Add in a top 100 receiver and a couple high quality Olinmen, the only positions lacking true elite talent are the ones we are already stocked well in (QB/RB). As is a very good class and were not even done yet.

Keep in mind that my realistic is still somewhat optimistic with Hamlin on the list and Ferns and Chidi haven't even taking OV's yet. With that said I don't think we miss on this many players that we are all over at this point.

I we assume the number is 6... I really think we get Studstill, Pride/Hamlin, and a WR for 3 of the spots. So let's assume Studstill, Hamlin, and McKinley. I think we try really hard to get one linebacker (Kelly, McCulloch, Davis... none of the 3 seem super likely at the moment) and then probably Okonya and maybe Morris.

The wildcard is what happens with Long, Fuller, Pride, Hamlin and if we're willing to take another DB/ATH. Alternatively, if Ferns isn't committed to Penn State and we miss on all of the LBs maybe we make a hard run at him. I really think we need at least 1 true linebacker in this class.

After DB, if I could have one interior DL and another LB I'd be very happy. I really don't like ignoring the middle of the line.

With only 6 scholarship LBs, I'd say we should aim for 2-3 every year. Last year was a great haul for us so I could see it being as low as 2 but damnit, I want McCullough and Kelly.

That would be a dream LB class with Daelin already in the fold.

I can see that. I agree though, we have to be in good shape here with us in the hunt for so many prospects still, right?

Borderline 2011 DE haul. Would even be better than last year's LB haul, which was elite.

Agreed and it would also serve as some insurance should Daelin get injured. It would be a great haul for us, no matter how unlikely.

Studstill, Long, Fuller or Hamlin, Pride. I guess Hamlin is the better CB prospect as of now, so I'd probably want him a tinge more but if we could take both, I'd be happy about the flexibility many of these prospects have. Most are long and could move around between CB/S

After watching the 2011 ND vs Michigan game the other day, and the comparisons of Mckinley to Floyd, I really want Mckinley. It's crazy how Floyd looked like he was senior playing against freshman out there. Having a big bodied, strong WR can kill college DBs.

Thanks for the update LAX. I always enjoy reading this thread since it gets harder to keep up with all of the recruits year after year.

Just a recommendation, and obviously you can do whatever you want, but maybe putting an update date under each name every time you do an update for a recruit. That way we can go through and find the most recent updates a little quicker.
