The referees no longer even fake fairness in officiating Gronkowski. Being physically dominant is not a penalty. JJ Watt has the same problem. Both of them are held and mugged every single snap.

Refs have been bad, but why were the Pats throwing the ball on 1st down with less than 3 minutes remaining? You have to run it there and force Denver to take their last timeout.

Though technically correct, the fact that even Chris Colinsworth basically asked "wtf is going on?" on the air means the referees did a poor job managing the situation.

Great game by the Broncos. As much as I wanted to see the look on Goodell's face when he had to hand over the hardware to Kraft this year....I'm just not seeing how we can field 22 warm bodies at this point.

Edit: CJ, Brock, and the Denver pass rush looked great.

Gah. Thought it was 19-0 until the injuries hit...this team was truly scary with Edelman/Lewis. Hoping Gronk is okay...the fact his knee was not planted gives me a tiny bit of a hope.

Great game by the Broncos. Also, the refs were terrible. That OPI on Gronk was brutal and that holding on Chung was 50/50 at best and seemed like it came after the sack. Those were two big ones but it was bad all game. Chung got held terribly earlier on a TD run.

This game and the Gronk injury don't happen without that muffed punt return by Harper. Too bad.

Just saw video of McCourty held on the final TD and a terrible hands-to-the-face on Denver's final TD in regulation. Really pride myself on being one who doesn't bitch about refs since it always seems to even out, but the ND-Stanford game along with this one has me questioning that.

That had to be a brutal game for you Pat's fans. Gronk getting hurt and horrific calls going against you. Obviously the Gronk injury is much worse than the loss. Hope it's not serious as I love the way that guy plays.

I think it was a poorly called game, but I also think you could say that for a lot of other teams and games this year. I would just prefer to give Denver props for a nice win and move on. Personally, I don't blame the refs anyway. Don't muff that punt, and that game is probably over.

This. They weren't the first team to get jobbed on a bunch of 50/50 calls, and they wont be the last. Just doesn't go your way some nights.

Like you said, if Harper catches that punt then the Pats win. If Hightower and/or Gronk don't get knocked out of the game then the Pats win. Just wasn't their night in general and the Broncos played well, especially in the 4th quarter and overtime.

Very annoyed still over the loss, but might be good in the long run.

As for the refs being re-assigned to the Pats/Eagles game....I'm guessing Vegas has that game as being the most lopsided one of the weekend and it isn't a national broadcast. I don't think it's some rogue reffing crew coming to New England to mess with the Patriots....if anything the NFL is probably sticking them there as they don't think the game will be a close one.

I hate it when they lose too bro. We are spoiled. I just think it will make the team hungrier when everybody comes back healthy. I do think the #1 seed is up in the air now for the AFC though. Would still like to secure a bye. I'm sure Bill will have them ready to go this week, and 2 games may be enough to get it done, 3 probably for sure. Should be a fun finish to the regular season!
