Fair point. Rochelle has been a revelation and we don't really know what we have yet with Trumbetti because he can't get on the field. But I think it's fair to say that we haven't landed an elite or even great pass rusher since Tuitt and Lynch.

Your original point had nothing to do with "elite" talent and it also didn't have to do with production since its recruiting related. You said building a "competent" D with two back to back classes and then highlighted DE. Thats not true considering we signed a top 150 DE in back to back classes. I'd say top 150 guys would be considered competent level talent.

Also, if the expectation is a position needs to be recruited at an elite level for two back to back classes, then I think you'll be disappointed a lot.

ND must keep adding difference makers and this kid can come in and compete with Coney and Martini or keep growing and becoming a top DE. Really looking forward to finishing this class out, just keep winning and it could be special. I was soooo critical this spring and summer and Lucky told me to chill and just let it all play out and sure sh1t he was right and I was wrong lol

Gotta land some of these guys before I would concede and the summer and spring recruiting strategy needs an upgrade... I'm hoping now the staff is clicking and we see a more focused, organized sprig summer recruiting plan

Visited Stanford last weekend and gave the visit very high remarks. From a rivals interview on what he learned "its the best combination of athletics and academics." Hopefully this weekend we can make the athletics part of the equation a little cloudy if not downright not true.

Not a shot at Hayes but I'd take McCulloch ten times out of ten over him. He is as close to a can't miss you'll find IMO.
