Sounds like Denbrock hit it out of the park with his visit yesterday. Also wonder if Brandon Burton has put in a good word based on his visit.

5 Star DE, California born and raised, no chance. He'll like the visit, sign with FSU, AM, or USC if they make a big hire.
I'm pretty sure he's Nigerian born isn't he. I thought some of his family was still there and thats why he was living with Lavar Arrington.

im going to have to dig around a bit...i swear i read him and lavar had a falling out
where is this coming from?
Betiku hasn't seen his mother, father, or older brother and sister since emigrating from Nigeria in November 2013,

pretty awesome that we visited him thursday and he decommit friday...NOT SAYING it had anything to do with it...but potentially we were able to get him thinking
No inside info. Just that Denbrock visited him yesterday, he decommits this morning, and apparently looking forward to his official visit in a few weeks.
Ok, 2% chance. He might like the family feel of ND. I'll actually bump it to 12% chance.
Denbrock has a record of pulling major talent out of California.
If you're going to make up numbers, might has well put some decimals in there to look more legit. I now predict a 12. 123321224345% chance. Indeed, a better chance of landing him! The oracle has spoken.
i could only find some stuff from a message board indicating that he moved in w/ his football coach who also happened to be a ucla season ticket holder....

He also has a history of ND being the bride's maid for many Cali recruits. Not a knock on Denbrock - it's really hard to even get a Cali kid to consider ND that hard and that's a credit to Denny.
True, but I think this still undersells his recruiting chops:
2011- Niklas, Atkinson bros
2012 - Shepard, Greenberry
2013 - Vanderdoes, Redfield
2014 - Luatua
2015 - St. Brown
He's been directly responsible for winning a lot of our biggest recruiting battles during Kelly's tenure.
I think Denbrock is a very good recruiter. However, I'm not sure we can give him credit for Greenberry who didn't sign with us and Vanderdoes who did but didn't end up on campus. Add in Tee who signed and got to campus but we didn't have any handle on his situation so he left.
In all three of those situations, Denbrock won the recruiting battle. Unless he's responsible for vetting these kids academically, he likely doesn't shoulder much blame for them not ultimately suiting up for us.

Greenberry flipped on signing day. Unless I'm missing details, I'd say Houston won the recruiting battle.
How did he win the Greenberry recruitment? He actually signed with Houston on NSD. And then we'll have to agree to disagree on giving him credit for a kid, Vanderdoes, who never showed up. Signing an LOI does nothing for the football team, playing does.
My understanding is that he flipped because it became apparent he wouldn't qualify for ND academically. Which is exactly what ended up happening with his cousin Shepard. Had his grades not been an issue, I don't think there's any way he flips to the Cougars over us.
And that is probably true but shouldn't the head recruiter have at least a grasp on how the academics are coming along for his prize recruits? I'm not saying its solely his fault, at all, as we were trying to push a lot of guys in to ND during the early Kelly years. However, he should have some fault in the matter, no doubt.
