If the rumors about being a silent to Michigan at one point are true, then this kid is just as flaky as Chris Clark. He just happens to be more of a need then what Chris was last year. So we bang on Chris and give this kid a pass.

Committed all of 3 days to Michigan State before he decomitted. Supposedly a silent to Michigan before spurning them to go to Bama which seems to make sense on why Michigan isn't recruiting him anymore. Now decommits from Bama. Even if we get him, will he pull a Chris Clark and transfer a couple of games in.

While some of this is true, there is a very distinct difference. That is, Khalid actually does his homework. In fact, he has offers from Yale and other Ivy League schools. So that suggests, though, he may have flaked on previous commitments he doesn't on what is most important which is his education.

Ishaq, Lynch, and Tuitt was a once in a lifetime recruiting haul. Just absolutely nuts thinking back on it. All 3 of them were 5 stars on atleast one recruiting site. Ashame it was generally a bust outside of Tuitt.

uhhhhh it better not be.

Or pull a Eddie Vanderdoes and backs out after signing his Nat'l Letter of Intent!?

It was. Ishaq, Tuitt, Lynch, Niklas (projected as a DL by many services), Councell, Springmann and Carrico was hailed as perhaps the best DL class ever. Odds of us signing another class like that are not good.

Signing another class like that on paper? No. On the field? Decent chance.

Good luck to KK. Hope he becomes a first team All American wherever he ends up at.

...looks like someone cleaned up the thread.

Must not like us arguing over a subject we've argued about numerous times before.

I was a part of it but there should be a lot of news in regards to Khalid in the coming days/weeks so I thought this was the right move.

FWIW, Hemboldt is saying that he doesn't think Kareem makes it out of the weekend without being committed. Saying that UM might have a chance if he makes it out of the weekend but that doesn't seem likely.

If we come out like we should and beat the piss out of USC then I could see us filling up the class pretty quickly. Okeke, Hayes, Kareem, Studstil could all committ soon. If we come out flat and get our asses kicked like last year, which I hope we don't then it goes be a disaster.

Reps for your attempt at positivity. I'm stunned but also in agreement with the entirety of what you just posted (except maybe we shouldn't expect to beat the piss out of em).

This post gave me got damn aids. It was a rumor he was a silent to Michigan for three days it was never true. That was all started by Lorenzo but I doubt he told Michigan he was coming then committed to Bama. So I'm curious on what you think of some guys we have landed over the years such as

Brandon Wimbush
Josh Barajas
Pete Mokukawh
Dexter Williams
Spencer Perry
Aliz'e Jones

Steve Lorenz is the lowest form of life in existence. Followed closely by Jake Brown.

The reason he brought up Clark vs. every other possible de-committer is that he did it multiple times. The guys on your list only did once. To me (and obviously to the OP), that's a big difference.

Lolz then what's the point. Geez - I hate schools playing games.

(I know backup plans - just stating what came to mind)

I would love to see this young man join the class. Back when we thought we were getting him and a couple kids from Ft. Wayne, it's nice to see we've managed to work our way back at or near the front of the pack.

Anyone else find it interesting at all the bullshit flying round, the stuff hacks are spewing, and the games other programs are playing with the recruiting momentum that ND is building?

Correlation : BS vs. ND recruiting MO?

What really really sucks is the fact that you dont know until the ink is dry (even then as shown, a recruit can wiggle his way out) that the guy is coming. Today you see recruits commit 2 and 3 times then sign elsewhere at the last minute. This isnt right. I understand that guys need to shop around to make sure what is right for them but once you commit, you commit. Same for the school having to honor it even if they get interest from superior players. You give your word, you keep your word. By allowing things like this, you are promoting a lack of character as well as entitlement to these athletes that one day will be in a society when they are not the highlight and they have to deal with it.

Yes Im 100% for the early signing period. That doesnt mean you have to sign, just that if you say yes, you mean yes and not yes for now.

People don't realize just how awful of a student Clark was, and how poorly people who knew his act thought about him. It was clear as day how his situation would pan out (i.e. he wasn’t coming to ND and if he did he wouldn’t last a year). I do not get that sense with Kareem. He could very well decommit again, or flame out if he does get to ND, but I just don’t put him in the Chris Clark camp at all.

Decommitted from: Alabama What happened: The four-star made an early commitment to Michigan State last winter, but quickly decided he was too hasty, stepped back from that commitment and started visiting other schools. By the summer, he had narrowed his choices down to Alabama, Michigan and Notre Dame, announcing for the Crimson Tide on June 24. Distance from home became an issue for his family, however, and they discussed that with Nick Saban during an official visit to Tuscaloosa last month. On Wednesday, Oct. 14, Kareem announced he was de-committing from Alabama. What's next?: Kareem will join Hayes in South Bend this weekend for an official visit with Notre Dame. Fighting Irish assistant coach Keith Gilmore continued to keep up regular contact with Kareem even after the Alabama commitment, and this official visit was in the works even before the de-commitment was announced. Kareem's father told me shortly after the de-commitment that they would be open to hearing from Michigan, but contact with the Wolverines had not been as strong in recent weeks. Another mid-year enrollee, Kareem could make a quick decision on where he wants to go and a good visit to Notre Dame this weekend could seal it for the Irish. - See more at: https://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1814448#sthash.hHUJL5JV.dpuf

So if I have this right, we now have a chance at Kareem and Clark!
