I disagree. I see him as a high target on ND's list.
Reporters, whose sources are guys on the coaching staff, say the opposite. Thus the slow play.

How's he doing this season?

Anna's opinion: if he doesn't commit this weekend, there is a good chance he will by month's end
Michigan have 22 commits already, haven't they? They seem to be challenging us for every remaining recruit. How come they have room?
In general, yes, Michigan looks like they are at least going to start out the Harbaugh era with an SEC style approach. Bring in a ton of guys and see what sticks. Not sure if the plan is to push guys out at the end of the cycle should they get better players or expect more and more transfers.
We're not really competing against UM for that many guys, there's only a few Kemp, Kelly, Jones. I might be missing a couple but a large majority of guys we are still after aren't being recruited or aren't considering Michigan. Hamlin, Fuller, Vaugh, Studstill, Betiku, Burton, McKinley, Robertson, McCulloch, Hayes, Stovall, Alloway, Hansford, Davonte Robinson, Tony Pride Jr., etc.
I suppose we are competing with them for Rashan Gary but I really don't consider us an even fringe player until he visits.
I was reading up some research from a scUM site and this is basically what is going to happen, and essentially has been Harbaugh's plan from the start.
scUM fans were restless at the beginning of the cycle because of the low-rated guys that were already filling up the boat, but the article I found said that the strategy was to fill up as much as possible early, just to make sure the depth is getting shored up numbers wise, and then to start pushing guys out later in the cycle if scUM had success and started reeling in some bigger fish.
It will be interesting to see who decommits from scUM, and what their ratings will be, once NSD starts getting close.
Did not see this right away. That he commits to ND or in general. As of now, it sounds like he's Michigan's to lose and we'll really have to hit a home run to swing this back to us.
Yes, to ND. Anna has been quite confident about this for months. Always stating let him OV to ND
He's a definite want, correct? What I mean is, we would be extra happy if he commits?
JMO, but his film didn't impress me, but I'm of the mindset of 'take whatever you can get' at DL since we can't get any really talented ones, so it's whatevs.

A couple things here.
1. I agree that I think he's a solid prospect but I'm a little unsure of where he fits in. Can he play SDE in our 4-3 or is going to end up like KLM and move inside to the 3T. I don't see an immediate impact player but one that will contribute in time.
2. Once again, the bolded, this simply isn't true. Our roster is littered with talented DL. Also, Julian Okwara is having himself a really good start to the season. Solid 4 star prospect there.
Littered with talented DL? I don't see the talent that you see for the 2016 roster.
Jones
Trumbetti
Rochelle
Tillery
Possibly: MDT, Hayes, Okwara and Cage
It sure isn't the days of KLM, Nix, Tuit, Williams, Lynch, Day
Actually the statement was talented ones, not good ones. But whatever. It seems like we do this exercise every couple of weeks. Apparently we need to do it again. The statement was that we never seem to get good DL. Top 250ish DL we have on our roster currently, meaning ones we've recruited since 2012
Day
Stanley
Isaac Rochell
D. Randolph (now at WDE)
Trumbetti
Hayes
Blankenship
Cage
Tillery
Taylor
Julian Okwara
That is 11 top 250ish DL we've signed or will sign over 5 recruiting cycles. That means that we are getting about 2 each cycle. I think this hardly constitutes the statement, we never seem to get the good ones.

Stanley is an offensive linemen. you left Jarron Jones off the list. I don't recall Blankenship, Cage or Taylor being top 250ish players

I hear that.Fair point and I'd call a composite 4 star player a talented one.
I wrote this in a hurry and I should have said composite 4 star players not top 250ish. Point remains we're getting 2 talented DL per cycle on average. Thats not great but its definitely not never.
Rochell is better than KLM, Tillery will be better than NIx, Tuitt's are few and far between. Williams? He didn't do much. Lynch? He was here for a cup of coffee. Not sure why people kept referencing him.
I hear that.
But I also know where Koon is coming from. Other than Tillery and Rochelle we haven't had a Tuitt, Lynch, Nix, Day, Williams prospect come along in a while.
Why would the staff cool on a four star DL who has high interest... who else are we targeting that may take preference??
