Was his Texas visit the OV? Or was that the out of pocket visit? I assume he used his OV for Texas in case he never made a return trip.

From ISD via an unnamed source who covers recruiting in another part of the country: "Everyone I've talked to says Notre Dame leads" for Robertson.

Although doubtful in the world of recruiting, can you imagine our WR depth of we pulled Robertson and Javon. Wow

It's hilarious too because UGA mods have no idea or give no credit to ND being in this race.

I thought I read he was playing a lot of db this fall and has been dominant.

He's had some pretty darn impressive DB film so far. As of now, I'm still riding with him at CB or FS. With that said, it sounds like on his visit it was all WR talk.

He is the kind of athlete where you ask him what he wants to ply

I get that this should be the tactic to get him in the door. However, there are a lot of examples of a kid wanting to play one position but much better at another. I don't view this one as an obvious situation but Anthony Barr was set on offense and is playing good Sunday football on defense. The coaches made that decision.

Arik Armstead and James Wilder Jr. also come to mind

Allow him to try both but show him where he has the higher upside

Arik Armstead might have been the first overall pick at LT.

I haven't followed his NFL career so far but he sure did have an underwhelming career at Oregon from a productivity standpoint.

Still a first round draft pick so really can't blame him too much.

Yep, and Wilder certainly wouldn't have gone undrafted if he were a LB

Now here's a much better example of a thick headed athlete. Sure fire dominant linebacker but nope, dead set on playing running back and ended up never breaking 700 yards in a season.

But Demtrius Robertson I think adds much better versatility. He might be the best player in this class we still got a shot at and I think would be our best defensive or offensive player; where ever the coaches decide to place him.

Yea, I wasn't using him as an example per se, but when his name came up I thought to myself, "damn, he was really unproductive for all the talent he had."

Think you need put him where there's the least amount of depth. Probably safety.

I still go back to Kelly's comment when he said something like, "We can manufacture offense but we need athletes on Defense."

Exactly the reason Oregon hasn't won a NC. They don't recruit well enough on defense. I want Robertson to play FS or CB for us. FS depth is kinda scary right now.

Article on him recently in Atlanta paper (or maybe blog) he mentioned that he enjoys playing defense. Much more natural at safety than cb.

I think he looks better as a receiver, i really love the way he catches the ball, natural hands. He can play in the slot too, not just as wideout and he can create yards after the catch. As a defender he looks like a bad tackler to play safety. Anyway i do not think his film is very impressive to be a five star player.

Exactly. I hate putting guys with below average hands for a WR when they'd be a ball hawk for a free safety.

Since it takes safeties 4 years to understand our defensive concepts, I say put him at WR so we can get more use out of him.

Says the high from his visit is wearing off and that them not getting back to campus is rather telling. Expects him to end up back at Bama or UGA at this point.

1) Fire BVG
2) Hire Greg Mattison

There. Now they can understand our concepts in less time.
