I'm guessing this is a yes, but you gonna catch the Kings in Nashville? Heard some pretty good things about games there.

Yeah, the Kings play in Nashville twice this year so I am pretty happy about that. I think I am going to spend some coin and get some really good seats. Also planning on going to see the Preds when the Ducks come to town so I can root against the Quacks.

Good deal. I don't know what it is, but I'm really growing to dislike the Ducks.

Come down to Nashville and I'll get us tickets to the Preds and Flyers.

Depending how finances go I might take you up on that.

Btw, thanks for Hexy back. Has them going in the right direction.

Typing from my IPAD while my son lies asleep in my arms, so I'll type more when I'm on a real keyboard, but:

1. What are you guys looking to see tomorrow night/this season?

2. Score prediction?

LIKEWISE!!! How's 'retirement' treating her?

It's good. Takes some getting used to, but we are enjoying it. We are both volunteering now, so we have had some time apart lately.

Surprisingly, I don't drink as much in retirement as I thought I would.

I really want to see some good kick returns and A LOT more sacks this year. Score prediction - I just don't know. I am so gun shy for us on season openers that I am really nervous about this game. I know people say Texas isn't that good, but we have played some bad teams on season openers and we have absolutely s*** the bed.

1.) Really interested to see how Zaire responds to being "the guy" instead of the chaser and want red zone efficiency. Also excited to see KVR back in action and the defense as a whole.

2.). I'll say 27-14 ND.

Zaire is really going to have to step up. He has gotten a ton of press, so we will see just how much pressure he can endure. Red zone efficiency is another great area to focus on.

I guess I will venture a score prediction of 33-26 ND.

Looking at DT and QB with nervousness. Looking at OL and CB with excitement. Interested to see the special teams, especially the young uns (Yoon and Sanders).

I think we win by 10, but it's going to be a frustrating kind of win that will make some of the bipolar board members get really upset.

The Baylor game got out of hand fast.

I think red zone efficiency will be much improved with Zaire's ability to run hard

I am interested in seeing if the defense can be disruptive and dominant as a unit consistently. Also excited to see if special teams can become a weapon and impact games. Have a lot of confidence that Malik will shine on this stage.

I think 34-17 Irish

1. The offense in general, and basically if we can run the ball even when the other teams know it is coming, a la Wisconsin. Also want to see if we can generate a pass rush, especially against 2 freshmen offensive linemen.

2. 31-13 Irish. Like I told my co-workers...if ND struggles to a close victory, I'll be worried about the rest of the season. If we win a pretty close one but at least play decently well, then I won't start to worry yet.

Nice! I'll tell you what...working at Notre Dame definitely does not suck. I make sure to get outside when I can just to enjoy the scenery and remind myself how lucky I am. Went on our annual retreat a few days back...overnight right on a lake in Syracuse. Best retreat I've ever been to by far - the genuine spirituality exhibited by my co-workers (about 90+ of us) was incredibly impressive. Love what I'm doing too...it's been a blessing so far!

1. I want to see how Zaire responds when things aren't going great. You can see how badly he wants to be great, and he's got all the confidence he needs, but I worry that he could get TOO worked up, and it could make the offense as a whole anxious and create some negative snowballing effects. Keep cool Malik!

2. I'm hoping for 31-17, if Malik transforms the redzone offense like he seemed to do against LSU in the bowl game. It's a Charlie Strong defense though, and I worry about that regardless of how depleted Texas' depth is currently.

That is so awesome! I am so happy it is going well. I was talking to my wife the other day and I told her, when we met you at Staples Center that night, if we had told you you would be living in South Bend and working at Notre Dame, you would have thought we were nuts!

2. Score prediction?

1. Can Zaire throw the ball consistently and accurately? Do we have true game changers on the offense. We know we have solid players but do we have anyone that can take over a game?

On the opposite side, can we get a pass rush? Do our LBs flow to the ball? How do Cage/Tillery hold up on the inside?

2. 34 - 21

If that's the score, I'll be a bit nervous but considering Mich State had a rough time with Western Michigan, I won't lose too much sleep over it.

If we lose, I'll be hitting the bottle and searching for something else to bury my time.

If we lose, my TV will be in pieces and the police will most likely be called to my house.

I'm looking for Folston to be this guy. I know Zaire is the QB blah blah blah, but if we're going to be a true running team the majority of the time the ball needs to be in Folston's hands. He needs to step up and be the man.

EDIT: The good news is that he's never disappointed ND in his play or his ability to show his worth. I think he'll do great.

I know Fuller is a WR and it's hard for a WR to takeover a game. But man that kid is dynamic and I consider him a game changer.

I also want to see 2 RB's in the backfield... a lot.

Show me some triple option. Show me CJ motioning out and burning a LB down the seam. Show me CJ lining up in the slot and motioning through the backfield on jet sweep play-action, with a backside tunnel screen to Fuller off of the play-action. Show me Luatua in the backfield with Folston and pounding Texas into submission.
