Set up an OV to ND, per ISD.

Per 247, the OV is for ND/USC game. Also considering coming to Texas game. But that one is up in the air.

Nice to hear a little positive news. This sounds at least encouraging.

Would really like for him to visit once before or after that game so we know the interest is legit, but I guess there are enough sources who've been saying he *could* flip.

I would put money on him being at the sc game

Everything I read says his interest is legit. Andrew Ivins (BGI) was asked if this was a free trip to see his team, and Andrew said no and that Hayes is cut from a different cloth. Side note, his crystal ball leaders, in order, are Michigan, ND, and then USC. And Loy swears he's not going to Michigan.

Well that's a safe bet! lol.

i think it would have been nice if the staff could have steered him to any other ND home game but if Hayes said his interest in ND is genuine then we just got to wait and see

Here is to hoping he tells all of the recruits there why he is decommitting from USC and why he wants to go to Notre Dame

How cool would it be to add Hayes and Betiku in this class. And perhaps CB Cuffee from Texas.

The guys at ISD say the same thing. Beyond impressed by him at The Opening.

Skyline won 38-14

my impressions from that 3 min highlight video ... PHENOMENAL looking athlete, pretty meh as a football player. Didn't really see anything that jumped off the screen or flashed. A kid with his size and athletic ability should've absolutely dominated the type of competition he was going up against in that video.

while he hasn't had much game film, the kid has been dominate at every camp he has attended

I'm weary of combine warriors. I fell for that trap one too many times. T-shirt and shorts isn't football.

Only because it looks like he'll end up at ND and not scUM.

Wrong. My stance on him has been pretty consistent. Don't think he's a 5* recruit, he hasn't earned that with his play on a football field, but I'd take him ALL DAY. Still want him, doubt Michigan has a chance at all. Athletes like that don't grow on trees. Low risk, high reward. No downside in taking him, and his upside is very high. If he learns how to play the game and is developed by a good coaching staff, look out. Look out.

agree on combines but he was a linebacker/DE hanging step for step w/ running backs(elite)...just pointing out that his athleticism/speed is great for a guy that size..and the sample size of his high school career is very limited but wanted to put into perspective for those who haven't seen any other film on him...there is a reason though many college coaches would love for him to be on their team

This film actually reminds me a little bit of Ishaq's HS film. Obviously a great athlete, but seems to not play at 100% and is a second late to the play or getting to the spot to make the play most of the time.. Also seems pretty tentative diagnosing and reacting to the player after his initial burst off the line. Looks like he could use a lot of work on shedding blocks and disengaging linemen...just blowing them up like he does a few times in this footage isn't going to work at the next level. Kid is pretty put together though thats for damn sure.

Plays super high. But good god his length and athleticism, is something that cant be coached. Needs a redshirt year and a ton of coaching.

I would be shocked if a kid like him redshirts. I think you guys are over analyzing this too much. He has barely played high school football. He has been on a lot of different teams. If I am not mistaken this is his first time playing as a defensive end.

Everything you said after your first two sentences is exactly why he would probably need to redshirt...

I'm looking at it as you are making a judgment on this kid too early. Let him get his feet wet and see what he does.

Fair enough. My biggest knock would be I just want to see him play fast/hard regardless of whether he is in the right spot or knows what he is doing. I'd rather see him make mistakes playing at 110%. Too much jogging around for my liking, and at one point he kind of gave up on the play and the kid kept blocking him and he seemed kind of taken back by it like the kid was supposed to let up.

I can agree with that. I just want to see how he looks after he gets more reps under his belt. Could be a lot of different factors.

definitely be interested to see footage from later in the season to see if he has improved and taken coaching. Eventhough he was not in any these programs for long, each school in Orchard Lake St Mary's, St. Bonaventure and Cass Tech have very good coaching teams and histories. It's not like he's been stuck in the wilderness with no support.

I don't think he redshirts. He is 6'3/6'4 and 250. We return Trumbetti and Randolph at WDE so not a lot of depth. If he flips to ND I could see him playing his freshman year as a backup.

I've heard a lot of Von Miller comparisons coming out of the camps. Quick, strong, long armed, and extremely athletic.
