Dia daoibh,
One of our brothers, I will let him remain anonymous, his battling a serious, possibly fatal neurological disorder. I believe he is well liked by everyone, and has posted on this site for a number of years.
This one is important to me, not just because it was communicated back to me that he and his family were praying for me, but because no one deserves to go through what this guy is facing. He is humble, courageous, and has maintained his sense of humor and his ability to love, much longer than I in his difficult situation.
Humbly, I come to all of you asking for your prayers for some one I truly consider a hero. And I will tell you, I may have some accomplishments in life, force of character, and etc., but when I tell you that I am not good enough to carry this guy's jock strap, I mean it.
In fact, with his overwhelming illness, he is not his own principal concern, so I will give you a few suggestions to target your prayer petitions, if you would be so kind!
For his family!
So he gets to take his family on the vacation he had hoped (target Hawaii.)
So his daughter who is really committed to the goal, apply and gain admission to the University of Notre Dame.
So he is able to see both her high school and college graduation.
So during his daughters time as a student, he and I, and for that matter any of you who would like to join in, get to attend a game together.
That the Lord, to whom he is near (and dear), watch over him and deliver him from his pain and suffering, and give him time to enjoy his family growing, one thing that I know gives him pleasure, (beyond ND winning, of course!)
They say you cannot truly know anyone over the Internet, and I suppose that is really true for the most tangible aspects, but I have seen proof of this brothers character, and the character of his family, and it has touched me deeply, and I hope you will find a place in your heart for our brother and his family! Thanks

PS. If words don't come to mind, then pray with me . . .

May I be filled with loving kindness;
May I be healthy and strong;
May I be free of all dangers, internal or external.
May I be filled with the ease of well being.
May I be happy!
