Kevin is an interesting recruit because everything about him seems to be here and there.

First off, he's not 6'3" 190 like it was originally said. In fact, he's more like 6'1" 170. Second off, he's pretty lowly rated by ALL the services, however he holds a number of big time offers (Miami, Florida, LSU, ND, Michigan, Michigan State, etc) AND was named MVP at the Rivals Speed and Skill challenge. That's a pretty decent resume for a guy outside of the top 50 WRs in the country.

Won the fastest WR race (40yd run) 10-50. Also received impressive remarks by both Josh Hemboldt, Bryan Driskell, and Evan Sharpley. Most notably is Bryan D as he very recently didn't have many positives to say about him. Kid is very dynamic and once he gets this WR thing down, he could be really good.

Christian from ISD's sources in FL keep telling him they Stepherson will be Irish by the end of the weekend.

It sounds like he came with the intention of committing as long as everything went well.

Having depth at WR is luxury that you can either swing for the fences on 5 star guys or get the high upside guys that may need some time. As of now Kevin seems to be the latter which I'm perfectly fine with.

Congrats to Kevin and the Stepherson family, love to see a Jacksonville kid (my old stomping grounds) come up to South Bend. Great choice.

Of our current commits, probably the least high on this one. I watched his film, he does some nice things and I do trust the staff in finding guys who get open (will fuller wasn't the highest rated) but still, WR was a position we could have been selective with.

Not related to just Kevin but applies here too. If we load up on high upside guys that may need some time and they dip out late its gna be sad pickins if this team is 9 wins.

With offers from Florida, Miami, LSU, Michigan, and MSU, seems like he's probably pretty solid. I go by offers because I have no idea how to evaluate film.

I'm not in any way upset about us taking him. Like I said his film shows some nice things and his offer list suggests more than rankings do, I agree.

Chris Brown was my first thought when watching his tapes too. Not a great route runner but has the down the field speed and ball skills to make up for it.

I'm not hating this offer and commit, at all, but don't lie to yourselves.

His offer list sucks. LSU, a shitty Florida team, sort of WVU and Mich St. That's it. Those are the only marginal to good teams on there. MAYBE Miami.

He's a Florida kid w/o an FSU offer. That tells you a lot.

I hope he isn't like Chris Brown, because Chris Brown hasn't done much on the field (1 whole TD in 2014!).

"Junior film was ok." Maybe he is getting better. Maybe. This just seems like a guy they could have held out on and if they missed, oh well... Especially w/a small class.

Getting into this high school alone can do big things. It's not as loaded as Trinity Christian but they have a decent talent pool. I'll be checking out a game or two this fall!
