Next time your in Redlands you need to hit up donkey punch and try the Lemon Caliente... It may not be your type of beer, but again, it's the adventure and you'll not find another beer like it,

Any of you California guys had beer from Shanty Irish Brewery? They are a small place that also operates Rooney's pub in the Central Coast region. Just a great name for a beer company.

Jester King Live Oak collaboration beer Foudreweizen.

Tart. I get some lemon too. Looks gorgeous but without the Hefeweizen head. Really damn good though. I'm enjoying it in a wine glass though since I have no tulips and a standard pint glass didn't seem sufficient. I'm not sure but I think I like this as much as the Hef

d'Arenberg d'Arry's Original Shiraz/Grenache 2010, that I picked up on sale at Costco for $11.

Pretty damn good for the price. Initially the nose is brambly blackberry and grape (I had it too cold initially probably closer to 50-55) but as it warmed up to a proper temp (65-70ish) the grape faded away and it was brambly blackberry, forest floor, herbs, white pepper, and black cherry. Adds a note of strawberry on the finish. Overall a great value at $11. Has some nice tannins as well.

Now it is time to roast some pork tenderloin.

I love Victory at Sea. No Stone Enjoy By?
I've called or gone to 4 places in town. They either don't have it (though they're on a list of bars that do) or don't have it tapped yet.

What is taking you so long? Obviously you are not weak willed like me.

Ha! Actually did have one Saturday afternoon but forgot to post. Very good once again. Might be the 3 months since my last enjoy by but this batch tastes more citrusy.

Had the last two glasses tonight. Still very good, though more fruity (blackberry, strawberry and blueberry) with less of the forest floor and herb notes.

I would agree with it being more citrusy. I need to buy a few more.

That's high praise there, chief...
I'm a big fan of the Foudreweizen. Pray that Jester King will keep it until next time you get close. But it is a farmhouse ale, so you better like sour and citrus.

Also, Long Strange Tripel.

I think we should all pool our money and fund an Mc Hammer micro brew. The tie in marketing would be off the charts.

There's "U Can't Touch This" imperial stout

"Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em" DIPA

And the flagship "Hammer Time!" lager, best enjoyed while wearing extremely flared parachute pants.

Oh, and I tried 21st Amendment's Down to Earth Session IPA. Nice and refreshing on a hot, muggy day.

My wife and I have joked for years about starting a brewery with a giant rooster as the emblem... similar to Goliath Rex wines... we would call it Giant Cock brewery...

Stout- Big Black Cock
Ale- Smooth Cock
Lemon Hefe- Tart Cock
Dunkel- Dirty Cock
Brown Nut Ale- Salty Cock
Non Alcoholic- Limp Cock

etc...

we are nerds, we have fun...

Any cigar smokers out there and if so what is your smoke of choice? I know it is not the right thread, but I could find any on cigars.

I remember something an old Italian professor of mine in Florence once shared when I asked how to find good wine. "It is very easy to find good wine. You just look for the wine with de de de big black cock".
