Ikenna's head coach had good things to say. Definitely seems like a RKG. Elston offered through his HS coaches. Has good size and ball skills. Currently plays wide receiver in addition to safety, but will fill out to be a safety or outside linebacker at the college level.

Okeke's family is big on academics as well. He is definitely an intriguing prospect because he has so much flexibility at multiple positions on defense.

The fact that his high school uses him as WR in the redzone also shows what kind of athleticism and hands he has.

So, I've been very interested in this kid since we offered but there hasn't been much mention of him recently, until today. Jordan Wells at BGI posted that Ikenna texted him last night "Really love that university". We should be getting a spring/summer visit.

Hare (II) spoke with him last night. ND/Stanford running top 2 then Tennessee. He has been trying to get a hold of BK to talk with him the last couple days. Great relationship with Elston. Possible summer visit scheduled soon.

BVG and Lyght visited him today and the visit went great. He said that he has more and more love for ND by the day. Summer visit being planned.

"They're talking to me just the opportunity that they have on and off the field," he said. "They told me I can come in and play early if I go in and compete. Then, the degree off the field can set you up for life. That coach, he talks to me the most. Those coaches they really stay on me: Coach Elston, the defensive coordinators, Coach Lyght, a lot of them.

As noted above we seem to be sitting really good with Ikenna right now but Stanford has been making a run at him and he's listening. Said he will visit both this summer. Lets hope we can end this streak of losing S's to Stanford, lol.

was at GT and earned offer past weekend...this is from today "I'm hoping to get around this summer but my interest is very wide open right now and I'm not close to a decision," he said.

"The coaches are pumped that I'm going to get up there and say I'm going to love my visit," Okeke said. "I'm hoping that stays true, because I'm already believing it will be a great visit.

"If they asked us about a commitment, I'd probably have to talk it over first. But nothing's impossible, man. I love that school already." - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1775321#sthash.AyAl2guy.dpuf

"I'm definitely pumped about it," Okeke said. "I've been waiting to get out there for a long time.

"My parents, I'd say they're open just as much as I am about schools. But I do know they love the academic influence from any school, and Notre Dame is big on that."

"I'm looking to get a really good feel for the school, because I'm already highly interested in the program and the love that I get from them," Okeke said. "Just a feel for the coaches, the surroundings, the city and all that stuff. I just want to see what it's like." - See more at: https://notredame.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1775321#sthash.AyAl2guy.dpuf

Reading between the lines, I think his wide open recruitment will be narrowed considerably after his visit.

It seems like we are going to land 1 of, if not 2, from the group of the following: Chacho Ulloa, Spencer Perry, Devin Studsill, Andrew Pryts, and Ikennna Okeke.

Where does Ikenna fall in that group for some of you?

I think there may be a race to commit between Studsill, Ulloa, Perry, and Okeke the irish invasion should be very interesting, i am looking forward to see what happens.

Studstill
Pryst
Okeke (though, I think he has more upside than Pryts)
Perry
Ulloa

Also, keep in mind that some (not I) view Pryts as a long term OLB prospect and I view Perry as a long term OLB prospect. So those two may not go into the staffs decision on how many of these guys to take.

he is second tier but not a slight to him...

1.Pryts being as lucci said..RIGHT now but he will grow out of safety as he is near it already
2. I love studstill so i rank him 2nd
3. Okeke-rangy, can play nickel immediately and safety so he is a tweener to fit almost 2 needs
4 spencer-good player also happens to play for IMG so that doesn't hurt going fwd regardless
5.Ulloa--decent player at a position of need, plus could help bring in his good friend

I agree I think Okeke could play corner and I think starting him at nickle would be perfect.

Solid tape. Good looking safety prospect. Diagnoses the play and finds himself in the right place at the right time.

I, however, do not see cornerback in his tape. We need faster man to man type corners in BVG's system.

Random ISD posters think Okeke is the recruit being mentioned by Sampson as the one who might have already committed, to be announced in a couple of hours.
