Maybe it's how last cycle ended with us striking out, but it doesn't seem like we have a lot of better options that are highly interested in ND right now.

Seems "sour grape-ish" but I tend to agree. Saftey being the position I played and understand the most...I wasn't totally sold on Lyke. i wish him well.
MSU is hot now. That's what winning does for you.
I'll go on record right now and say ND gets TWO safeties from CA in '16. They will come from Chacho Ulloa, CJ Pollard, Micah Croom, Marquel Dismuke Ben Sukut and Keyon Riley. What h out for Troy Dye and Bishop Gorman's Bubba Bolden.
I like the optimism but I'm not sure I agree. I really like where we stand with Ikenna Okeke and Devin Studstill with both visiting this summer. Also, I don't see how we don't play the long game for Fuller as he might be the best S prospect we have a legit shot at. Lastly, I really really like Lamar Jackson but we haven't even offered yet, bummer.
They've been hot for a while but the roster has been thinning because of the NFL. This is their first real reload and they are getting a better rank of player this cycle. Good for them.
.
It is good for them but not good for us. The midwest seems to be establishing a new pecking order with ND and Michigan being down for awhile now.
OSU
MSU
Louisville
Wisconsin
ND
Everyone else
We really need a big year like....yeaterday.

WHAT? Louisville and Wiscy are ahead of ND recruiting, since when? Answer: NEVER. We smoked those classes last year, not even close.
To his defense momentarily... He's talking a out Midwest recruits (I think). Even with that, D has out recruited everyone but OSU for Midwest kids until currently with MSU leading with Midwest kids halfway through this cycle.

Storm...
Even with back to back poor seasons, nobody but you thinks ND is behind Louisville or Wisconsin. Everbody is behind OSU.
MSU is doing their thing. They've had a good run of turning 3,stars into players and Cook has turned out to be a baller but I'm a seller after this year. I think we've seen their peak...much like Stanford. ND's run starts. now and with the OL talent in the system and the pipeline and 5 years of Zaire Kizer and Winbush. They're locked in.
Lucky...
I'd go on record right now that MSU has an edge in recruiting through half a cycle. Not really in commits but leans. They have a movement going and a couple of Irish targets are entertaining it. Do I think Sparty holds that lead through NSD? Not a chance. A 10+ win Irish team will poach some commits and be popular on all star game announcements.
And they're winning 10 this year even if MVG plays.

I completely agree that they have more momentum right now but that's all it is. Nothing's complete, nothing is finished. The only thing finished is last years class which was good. I'm just saying there is no trend, not even close, of those teams (except OSU) out recruiting ND.
They have won 11 or more games in 4 out of the past 5 years. They are are clearly a better program than we are.
Kelly is 3-1 vs sparty. Not to mention they play in a crap conference.
