It sounds like I'm in the minority here but would rather have him versus Love.

I am torn haha. Love is a good prospect and can play so many positions. I think he is similar to James Onwualu in that Notre Dame has no idea what position he will start his career at. Could it be safety? CB? Nickel? Slot? Rb? That's a great thing.

I do think if you're counting Love towards being a DB, then Campbell is the better prospect. His coverage skills are very good and just simply makes plays.

I don't think you can go wrong with either, but it will be interesting to see where Love ends up once he gets to campus or how his flexibility impacts the class down the road.

Yea, according to Coach D that was the reason we didn't go after Campbell, his physicality. The coaches questioned his willingness as a tackler.

And to TP's point above, Love will be a nice utility player at ND and he's a quality addition.

Wouldn't be surprised if we circle this wagon again if we miss on some DBs

I really wanted Campbell but as always, I won't argue with the coaches. Hindsight is always 20/20 and they are working with a great deal of variability.

i posted this in Love's thread but Love is not only holding his own but he is getting plenty of attention as well

"It was the same thing we have seen from him really over the last couple of months in the offseason and then certainly going back to his junior year," Rivals.com Midwest recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt said. "He's a kid with tremendous ball skills. He knows where the football is and he knows how to play the man. He really knows the route better than the wide reciever knows the route a lot of the times. It was just more of the same from Julian. He is a plus athlete at that cornerback position. He has plus ball skills and he's really a strong cornerback prospect."

"Obviously what I like about him, is the open space skills that he has. How he runs the ally and how he comes up and plays the run are obviously two questions that we don't get answered in a camp setting, but we'll see that during his senior season," Helmholdt said.

"I have been keeping in contact with [Notre Dame head coach] Brian Kelly. He said that I'm welcome, if anything happens, but I called him when I was committing to Northwestern, and I told him that I'm very confident with my decision and that I don't want to decommit from anywhere," Campbell said.

still talking to the Irish, and defensive line coach Keith Gilmore was at his school on Thursday. Campbell remains solid on his pledge to Northwestern, but Notre Dame is lingering from a distance

Just entered the transfer portal and has immediate eligibility. Wonder if ND takes a shot?
