Interesting prospect. Kid has definitely been recruited by Notre Dame as of late. Not a high ceiling type of kid and is limited in several areas of his game. Def a kid you can stick at FS or in the slot.

I like several kids over him at this point but a good job to get him on campus this week. I think he is visiting ND, Michigan, MSU and ohio state.

There are a lot of "2nd tier" safety prospects out here this year. From the tape, I'll agree that he isn't first on my list but after catching up on his info, there are a few places he's listed at 6-3. I don't know if he's pushing the 6-3 to get a look at WR or not but everywhere else he's listed at 6-2. That's a nice sized FS if he can man the position. I don't like that he is on his 3rd high school, that's a red flag and I don't like that he immediately jumped on his first offer. I've seen that show before. That being said, he could be a great kid just looking for more playing time to show his skills - who knows? I have no idea what school he ends up at but I'll bet the house it won't be Utah.

From Jackrabbits to Friars to Matadores... Grosser?

Wish he would have stayed at Servite with Coach McBride but La Mirada is getting a lot of transfers. They got Poly QB Tutoi ...too.

Can high school players in California transfer to which ever school they like and play the following year? I mean I know in MN, for hockey, this is common but you need to have a "reason", otherwise you need to sit out a year. Like "moving" districts for public schools, AKA moving into a buddy's house or grandparent's house who happens to live close enough to the school. And for private schools, things like another school offering a class that their school doesn't offer (Pretty obscure ones sometimes). Are there requirements in Cali or do they just let them transfer no penalty?

I do not know the exact rules or if there are any for that matter but the one thing that is different here is he went to a private school in between. I don't know his personal situation either, but LB Poly HS and La Mirada are quite a ways apart so I'd guess he had to move at some point.

Also unofficial'd to Illinois, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan & Michigan St on his Midwest swing. Was supposed to go t OSU per earlier reports but I don't see any mention of that after the fact.

Said in an interview that Stanford is his dream school but after the visit, ND is head to head.

Should I have put "soft verbal" on this thread's title? lol

LOL...Said Stanford is his dream school. Visits ND and now it's 50/50. But he's committed to Utah? The joys of following these kids recruitment. Would suck to be Utah right now...or ever.

Not sure if this is a rhetorical question or not but the reason is because he doesn't have offers from the two 50/50 schools. He's basically saying that if I get one of those offers that's where I'll go, not uncommon this early on.

The NCAA should step in and either allow a kid to sign when ever he wants or make a "commitment" a level where once he announces it, no one can contact him after that unless he officially "decommits" with both the NCAA and the school.

This is a tough process for most kids. If they want to play the field, great. Don't let them have a generic / meaningless term called verbal commitment that means nothing and in 99% of the cases, means the opposite of the word. It opens up these kids to all kinds of scrutiny that they don't need to be under.

What's wrong with being a "lean"?.... or simply saying, "If signing day was today, I'd go to ________ University but we'll see what happens as I'm still hearing from new programs".

It's just a bad process all the way around.

We have the coaches out in full force at SMSB today. BK and Todd Lyght were seen following the DB's closely and specifically Micah Croom.

Ground zero. I'm telling you Lucky... there are 3 SoCal DB's on their way to SB.

They are going to come from: Croom, Dismuke, Ulloa, Long, Pollard, Butler, Morgan, Dye, Sukut, or Riley. Also, if Trevon Sidney were to end up at ND as a WR, he's a good switch candidate. He's also a very good CB.

I wish Burton, Thompson and your boy Lamar Jackson were on that list.
