Okafor is like 30% on one pointers and 80% on two pointers. Game plan seems pretty obvious to me.

So are we a 2 seed or solid 3 seed if we beat NC tomorrow?

Haha, I was reading this thread on my phone thinking we were losing by 20 only to get home and flip on the tv for the last 15 seconds. Damn, negativity, you crazy.

To be fair, you probably just read the last page. They had a huge lead and nearly blew it again, but they came away late. It was REALLY close for a little while.

dj silently humiliated duke tonight. they denied grant the ball at all times and jackson made them pay. played heady, handled the ball almost all night, created opportunities for everyone. nobody could stay in front of him.

we beat a #1 seed with the #1 nba draft pick at our weakest position.

bring on uk

also nd should have won this game way easier. completely outhustled and outplayed duke.

at one point nd had a 10 point lead... okafor TRUCKS bonzie for a bucket, nd comes back down the floor and duke flops for auguste's 5th foul. next thing u know another bucket and its 2 possessions going down the stretch. duke got duke calls down the stretch, but we fought through.

Serious question: Was tonight the biggest win of the Brey era?

--We've never been to a Conference Championship game
--Beating Duke in North Carolina is legit...especially without relying on 3
--Beating Illinois to make Sweet 16 back in the day was huge. I think this is bigger
--We've had some sweet regular season wins, but not many post-season wins

But seriously, I am used to hollering at the refs, but I don't recall being joined by the NATIONAL announcers as much as they did

Demetrius was dribbling circles around their guards and penetrating at will, fantastic to see an athlete of his caliber in an ND bball uniform. Okafor got away with some of the most blatant offensive fouls I've seen in a long time. Also, I don't harbor any animosity towards Duke, but their player Jones is a little b*tch. He flopped like a b*tch, got away with a hold on Grant for Grant's 4th foul, had the gall to cheer after the penalty was called, and then cried when he was called for a foul. Against all instinct, I think there is a bud of optimism to make it past the round of 32 - I didn't think I'd see the day when ND would outplay a team like this while shooting so poorly from the 3-point line.

We have to be a 2 seed with an ACC title under our belt. Not to mention 2 wins against Duke, a win on the road against UNC (and based on this scenario, another win in the title game), and road win against Louisville.

Biggest win of the Brey era. And win in spite if colossal BS stacked against the team. Wow.

We gotta see how the RPI and SOS look tomorrow. I don't think we get a #2 seed though even if we win tomorrow.

Kentucky, Duke, UVA, Wisconsin, Villanova, Arizona are all solidly ahead of us. I don't see any way that we could go ahead of those 6.

--Gonzaga went 31-2. We have more marquee wins, but they have a better profile overall.
--Kansas has an RPI of #2, an SOS of #1, and 18 wins over the RPI Top 100. Even if they do lose tomorrow and get dropped, ISU also has a very impressive resume and would probably be their #2 replacement.
--Utah could jump us by winning the PAC-12. Likewise with Maryland and the B1G. They both have us solidly beat with RPI and SOS.

I just don't see it personally. I think we locked up a #3 tonight, but I really just think it's impossible to get to #2. Hope I'm wrong.

I dunno. Kansas has a good amount of impressive wins (but so do we), but they also have SHITTY losses. They got DESTROYED by Temple...I repeat, TEMPLE. Not to mention their embarrassing display against Kentucky. Their win against Utah is impressive, but to me, it should come down to record vs. record if both teams win tomorrow. 29-5 > 27-7. Not to mention, even with their impressive resume, none of them come anywhere near beating Duke twice.

It's a nitpick, but at this point, you kind of have to. Both teams have compelling arguments.

They'll have 9 wins over Top-25 teams, we'll have 5. They'll have 19 wins over Top-100 teams, we'll have 11. They've played the #1 toughest schedule in the country, we're going to finish most likely between 80-90.

We probably have a better shot of jumping Gonzaga, but that's a longshot.
