Lyght will hopefully be a great addition. I have to be honest though, I'm highly concerned about his recruiting. We just don't have any information that gives us a realistic idea how good or bad of a recruiter he may be.

Upsetting LaFleur is leaving. Has local ties to Southwest Michigan, was hoping to be able to meet him. Still will most likely.

ND announces Cooks is leaving BEFORE NSD. OSU coach leaves after.

UCLA tried to pull the same shit with their DC. Too bad for them Roquan Smith had a delay sending in his LOI and the news broke before they actually received it.

Mike Weber is ridiculous considering he was REALLY torn between Ohio State and Michigan and the guy who knew he was leaving was a BIG factor in getting him to send his LOI in to the Buckeyes. So dirty.

Can't feel too badly for guys like Weber. Picking a school based on a particular assistant is just stupid. If he's good at his job, he's going to leave for a better position at another school. If he's bad at his job, he's going to get fired.

Commit to the school (and hopefully for the degree).

Hmm, I thought Tim Hinton was the RB coach at Ohio State. Didn't he leave ND at the same time as Warriner?

I see what you are saying, and it holds true that players shouldn't commit to coaches. However, if this was the coach that was giving him all of the information to base his decision on, and then sneaks this under the rug, I would be skeptical as well. I think the actions by the coaches would be what made me question my decision, not so much the coach leaving.

I'm confident that a guy who lived the Notre Dame experience, won a national championship, was a two-time all-American, and played a decade in the NFL will have little trouble communicating the greatness of Notre Dame to teenagers who want to do exactly what he has done.

Of course. He was used for the benefit of a wealthy and powerful institution. But if a "football-first" kid picks a football factory for three years of Underwater Basket-weaving before jumping to the NFL, it's best that he learn that lesson early, because people will be using him like that his entire life.

Can't argue with that.

Spot on. I was thinking the same thing and couldn't have said it any better.

Nah, per Wimbush's mom Kelly actually talked to Wimbush upfront and he heard it there first. Same with Cooks and all those guys.

oh ok that changes things. The odds that Hinton let Meyer know today that he was leaving for the NFL are close to 0%

Point of order, ND didn't announce shit about Cooks leaving.

But, I get your point.

I love the Todd Lyght hire. He can speak from first hand experience what it's like to play at ND and be able to speak on what the degree has meant to him. Not only that but he has NFL experience and was hired by an SEC school. I think it's a terrific addition.

Tip of the cap to BK.

The Super Bowl win can't hurt either.

ND didn't announce it but Kelly got out in front calling DBs, per those players.

Couldn't Weber leave OSU? See Vanderdoes

Haha the funny thing is NO unless OSU releases him (which they almost certainly won't). EV never should've been able to get out of his. His appeal failed multiple times until finally the right lie about his "learning disability" struck a chord.
