Blue Mountain Barrel House Mandolin. Pretty tasty Belgian Ale. It was on sale for 1.99/25oz. I'm not sure why because it's pretty good.

I'd love to try this. How is it?

I am slightly disappointed by it. Not as fruity as I was expecting. Reasonably priced at a 6-pack for $9 but I would definitely prefer Stone IPA or a few others. Probably won't buy again anytime soon but I might try to have it on tap when I go to San Diego next month.

If you can get single 12oz bottles at reasonable prices it is worth trying.

Hmm, I'm a little surprised. I'll definitely still try to try it but I appreciate the feedback, thanks.

Not a problem. I was a little surprised as well. It isn't a bad IPA just not what I was hoping for or what I expected (though that could be my fault as I went in with very high expectations).

My last 2014 KBS. I meant to carry it over and drink it in a couple years..... but alas I have failed.

Sometimes it's hard to beat an already established fantastic beer. You drink Green Flash West Coast and then expect a "special" release IPA and it disappoints. My guess is this a pretty good beer that has a lot to live up to.

I really like it. I like everything by Founders. Did you try yours? What do you think?

Yes, really good. I'm with you on Founder's. A superior brewery; I've liked everything I've had of theirs; I grab whatever I see of theirs. Sitting on a Dark Penance four pack. (Nice win by the Pats!)

There is no doubt that I probably had too high of expectations. The thing is that they bumped the West Coast IPA to a DIPA (and raised its abv from 7.3 to 8.1) and made the Soul Style IPA their standard IPA offering. At least they didn't raise the price on the West Coast IPA.

Green Flash Soul Style IPA. This time trying it straight from the bottle to see if I like it more this way. If not with my last 2 bottles from the six-pack I will try a few different glasses to see if it helps any.

Living near kalamazoo, I take Bells for granted. Don't drink many any of their beers. I feel hopslam is over priced for what it is. I also believe the quality and taste of Oberon has diminished.

I suppose it's a big price tag at face value, but it's a double IPA with a 10% abv. It's not a beer you drink a six pack of. If you translate that abv to other beers you may like, you'll see it translates into about $6-$7 a 25oz bottle. Which is pretty reasonable.

But aside from that, I'm fine paying a higher price for it simply because it's a magnificent beer, one that even here in Michigan, is sold in limited quantities.

Currently drinking Founders KBS at Bishops Collar in Philly. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

After a beer less period that was far too long, I'm back! Returning with El Hefe-Weizen. Not bad, but very inferior to Live Oak.

Duke bourbon. It's okay as far as bourbon goes, but a whiskey named after John Wayne with a picture of Duke on the label is going to get my money (it was actually a free sample from a liquor rep, but still).

Any Cincy-area bros familiar with Rhinegeist? I picked up some of their Cougar last night, a good Blonde Ale.

Drank many Rogue Dead Guys tonight at a local establishment during happy hour. Might be my new favorite.

Tonight I had Green Flash's Soul Style IPA, this time from a Dogfish Head IPA glass. Still not thrilled by it. I think that I will have the last bottle of the 6-pack in a Tullip glass later this weekend to see how it does.

Now a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barleywine style Ale. Very hoppy but then again it is still pretty young (bottled on 12/11/14).
