It's not.
I'll go a step further, and say I don't think there has been a worse time since he stepped on campus to try to put him in.

At half time i can understand that adjustment but not in the middle of a quarter.
Not going to win this game. No reason not to out him in

You would be sending a lamb to the slaughter today putting him in.
Red shirting.Notebook: Malik Zaire gets his shot for Notre Dame, just not at quarterback - Notre Dame Insider: Notre Dame Football
It's all a ploy so BK can start calling fake FGs now.
In all seriousness though, is Newsome not an option here? Or is he a RS?
Red shirting.
Interesting because in the Stanford game didnt BK say he considered putting in Newsome to hold (and thus burning his RS) after Hunter's problems with holding? But then this week it's been said that Zaire has been the backup holder all season?

Would not be surprised to see a little trickery if we are up early in the game just to give UL, U$C and our bowl opponent more to think about going into the final stretch of the season. BK will channel his inner Les Miles.
its too obvious when your FG team is shaky that a coach might call a fake due to lack of confidence in them IMO
Fake punt with Bennett Jackson his freshman year I think is the only one I recall.I don't remember Kelly ever calling a fake FG or punt, am I wrong?
Really hoping we can put NW away early so we can see what Malik can do for the first time.
I'm with you.
Hold looked fine to me. Sure, it was iffy at the start but he got it down and square just before Brindza kicked it.

I take it you have never kicked or held before then. That is a bad hold. Maybe Brindza could have made it but that doesn't change the fact that it was a bad hold.
Zaire double placed the ball.. Bad hold. Just because you ignore that fact, doesn't mean it isn't true.
I don't know if there is any correlation, but I wonder if he's going to have trouble hanging onto the ball too when, or if, he takes over.
