I love Fuller and he was my 2nd choice in the 'favorite player' thread. But I don't see him as a #1. He's very fast, but doesn't have great size or hands. He'd be a great #2, but not a #1 IMO.

Fuller #1

With his 3 TD catches to give him 13 on the year Will Fuller moved into First Place in the national rankings for TD receptions.

Fuller had been tied for 6th place with 10 TD receptions along with Amari Cooper, UA, Nelson Agholor, USC, Josh Reynolds, A&M.

Four players were tied for second, Nelson Spruce, Col, Keevan Lucas, Tulsa, Antonio Vaughan ODU, and Isiah Meyers, WSU.

Rashard Higgins, CSU was the leader last week with 13 and is now tied with Fuller.

Higgins had a bye as did several others. Agholor got two more for a total of 12.

Fuller's 3 TD catches and 159 yds were both career highs for him.

Fuller is now #4 on the ND single season TD reception list with 13.

He needs 3 more TD catches to move ahead of Samardzija, McKnight, and Tate at #1 with 15 TD catches in a season.

You are talking about the NFL right? His numbers for college can't be argued with as a #1. On Sundays, he's a #3 or a #2 if he keeps improving.

He's on pace... but Tate did it with Floyd and Rudolph, McKnight did it with Samardzija and Carlson... lastly, Samardzija did it with Stovall, Fasano, McKnight and Carlson... plus Darius Walker had 43 receptions too. I hope we can look back and say Fuller did it on a team full of accomplished players like the other 3 did.

Rashard Higgins has better numbers but is CSU's only option and he plays a non power 5 schedule. If stats are the metric, why did Tyler Lockett get a nomination with similar stats but with significantly less TD's? Can't be because he plays a 'tougher' schedule. Must be the token. Hard to complain about the rest though. That's a good list come draft day.

Generally most award winners win the year after they should have won. Fuller will be on the preseason watch list next year and be a finalist.

BUT Tate, et al, as you noted, ALL had lots of talented upperclassmen company to ensure single coverage and a couple of pretty talented QBs to throw to them.

Fuller mostly outruns his coverage but he has to make do with Giveaway Golson who ND fans want replaced by a garbage time, hand-off QB.

Got his 14th TD reception of the year versus UL. Needs one more to tie Tate, et al for the ND single season record. Two TD catches give him sole possession of the record.

Fuller is in 2nd place in the NCAA 2014 Most TD Catches Race. He trails by 1.

He had another 100+ yard receiving game, second in a row and fourth of the season.
