Kid has huge hands. And he can use them.

Funny in his video with Loy at the end, when he shakes Tom's hand. Look at Tom's face, for just an instant . . .

As we know the Bucknuts writers are huge homers and many thought OSU was in the lead and had been for a while. Well Alex Geitman CB's Cager to ND today. He's a super douche but if he comes off OSU it has to mean he heard something. Loy said he would too but thinks we gt ESB first.

So if ESB commits before Cager we tell him thanks, but no thanks and vice versa?

Also factor in Jones as well. It seems as the list is, in order of want:

1. Jones
2. ESB/Cager

If Jones were to commit first, there is a chance we tell both Cager and ESB no thanks as we might want to fill another position.

Thanks.........I didn't mention Jones because I thought we take him no matter what and then either ESB or Cager.

If it were just this simple, I'd want Cager to pop and then Jones so we could get both (I'm probably overvaluing Cager's upside, but he just seems to have all the tools with plenty of room for refinement). However, it seems like that would push out another scholarship so would that cost us the Safety we're still trying to land?

No, we has 4 spots left. RB, TE/WR, S, best available. Cager, ESB and Jones fall into the TE/WR as well as best available. Meaning that if Jones commits there might be better players at other positions (DE, CB, etc.) that we'd rather take than ESB or Cager. In reverse if Cager or ESB commit first more than likely Jones is the "best available" player that we'd take. This is how I understand it.

A solid win here with this development. Cager was scheduled to take his OV to Bama on Dec. 12th. We want him here for the weekend after the banquet so we can get a better read on Alize Jones. Cager was unsure if he'd change the Bama visit since he already scheduled it. Well he indeed did change his Bama OV and will now OV to ND on the 12th . Wimbush and White have been in his ear. This from II.

Good news. I though the banquest was December 5th? If not, something is December 5th. I've seen that date a few times.

Your right Koonja, the banquet is the 5th and we wanted him to come after Alize is on campus for that. Good catch

Been meaning to get back up to Maryland. Maybe a little stop over on my way to Jersey City. Still haven't found my wallet from the last trip up that way.

So would the board prefer ESB or Cager? I've been a big proponent of Cager, but ESB is legit too. Does anyone know the staff's priority?

I'm probably in the minority, but I'd pass on both. I'd rather the staff spread some of the WR numbers out over into the '16 cycle. I'd like Jones-- I think he's a talent you can't say no to, in any cycle, but not so sure about ESB or Cager. I think they are both nice players, but nothing jumps out at me from either.

I'm with hog. In a different class I'd say take one or both but quite a few pass catchers and boykin is already a big body.

I think the staff agrees with you but when it comes to the best available slot that's open ESB and Cager seem like the best bets. Remember that it's RB, WR/TE, S, then best available.

A few of the other best available players are Ross, Marshall, Gustin, Brown, Wilkins

Any indication if the prefer ESB over Cager by a little or a lot? The reasoning behind ESB over Cager?

I haven't watched their film, but IMO, take the guy who Bama, OSU, and other big time programs are hard after rather than the guy UCLA/USC apparently doesn't want anymore.

This comes down to Notre Dame and Ohio St. If we want him I believe we get him. I know it doesn't mean anything, but he sure did went on a following spree of almost every Notre Dame Commit and target last night plus some coaches. (Soso, Malik Henry)

Yeah, that's a good point. I'd like ESB or Cager over nobody.

But that list of recruits in play is somewhat fluid. Is there a Kolin Hill or Jhonny Williams out there? Would ESB or Cager be a take above those guys?

East Notes: Offers, Visits, Etc.

Baltimore Calvert Hall receiver Lawrence Cager is no longer making an official visit to Alabama during the weekend of Dec. 12, but he told Scout he could be on the Alabama campus for an unofficial visit this weekend.

In addition, he no longer will be at Notre Dame the weekend of Dec. 5. Instead, Cager will make an official visit to Virginia Tech that weekend and visit Notre Dame the following weekend. He already has trips set to Wake Forest (Nov. 21) and Ohio State (Nov. 28) and Rutgers continues to push for an official visit.
