Only 3.5 point favorites?

They opened at 8.5 then people became enamored with UL's defense against the likes of 2-6 Wake Forest, 3-5 Syracuse, 3-5 FIU, FCS Murray St Racers, 5-3 Miami, and those impressive losses to 6-2 Clemson and 4-4 UVA.

Only 3 teams have scored more than 18 points against UL, 21 points by both Murray St and UVA, and 23 by Clemson.

FSU was a 9.5 fav against ND in Tallahassee. Apparently UL home field advantage must be good for a dozen or so points.

Sagarin's Predictor Model makes UL about 3/4 of a point favorite.

UL's Strength of Schedule on Sagarin is #66 a little softer than Neb #58, OSU #60, MSU #63.

It's always bothered me when lower ranked teams are punished for hanging with but not beating highly ranked teams. I wish Louisville could come within a point and people could be like "hey did you see how close they came? They're more like the 15th or 20th best team!"

If you're expected to play like #25 and you play like #10 why do you drop in the rankings for being better than everyone thought?

I just wish fsu could stay undefeated and Louisville could stay ranked...

Surprisingly good defense in a raucous home environment; game time temp is projected 45 degrees. Louisville's 2 losses - to Virginia on a late 4th quarter fumbled punt (turned into field goal - 23-21); to Clemson had ball 1st and goal on the 8 and couldn't punch it in as the game ended (lost 23-17). Also I think the line was driven down with the status of Karlos Williams up in the air.

It should be a good game; hopefully it will give Notre Dame some good tape for their upcoming game against Louisville...

I have absolutely no idea who I want to win this game.

I don't think it matters. The win by either team will be spun by the media; from a Notre Dame perspective, all that matters is winning out. So in that situation, give me the ethical underdog.

Stanford taking Oregon down would also be nice.

Would it look better if Louisville wins and then we beat them? Being that our loss to FSU looked like a win to a lot of people, would it confirm to some how good we are if we take down Louisville after they take FSU down?

Or does a narrow loss by Louisville and us beating them look better?

A UL win tonight followed by a loss to ND serves us better in the what have you done lately category. A UL loss tonight followed by a loss to ND would draw Stanford comparison comments.

What if UL keeps it close tonight then we win by 2+ scores, how would that look?

Is it wrong for me to want FSU to win out and get the #1 seed so we can sneak in at #4 and kick their ass in the CFP!

Yeah. Louisville losing tonight puts them in the 3 loss column; USC is already there - leaving ASU as the only team with a significant pedigree. I think the best scenario w/r/t playoffs would be Louisville beating FSU close, then ND stomping Louisville.

Looks like FSU is using the same plan they used against ND in the 2nd half to start the game.

I think it's time to admit that Florida St. just isn't that good this year. Winston and a couple of the receivers are elite, everyone else doesn't impress.

Honestly, they shouldn't drop out of the rankings even with a loss. Both of UL's losses this year came without their starting QB and best WR. With them, they'll be tough to beat.

Nope. I'm torn, because FSU losing would most likely drop them behind ND. On top of that, ND would then beat UL, who beat FSU, and then people would realize that FSU loss was a complete fluke. On the other hand, I want to play FSU in the playoffs and beat the ever loving sh*t out of them.
