So, Fox Sports is having 13 of their analysts compose Top 10 rankings every week as a mock playoff committee. Pretty cool. Unfortunately that POS Clay Travis is a voter and he is putting us nowhere near his Top 10 as he thinks we're a JV team. Brady Quinn is on there too at least.

Regardless, we're at #6 and they show us some love as a team to be "trending up" next week.

I don't think they have them which is too bad. I just know the Clay Travis one from reading his site, Outkick the Coverage. He's a huge, huge SEC homer. It's tough to read.

How have the Irish won? Defense and super quarterback play. Said Quinn: “The Irish are one of the top defenses in the entire country, especially in the red zone. That and the maturation of Everett Golson, who's 16-1 in games he’s played, gives the Irish [a chance] to enter the College Football Playoff.” The FSU game and regular-season finale at USC, in particular, will significantly affect the Irish’s playoff case. Any top five with three SEC West teams obvs won't last. That's fine. This is ranking right now, with 2/3 of a season yet to play. It's for entertainment value.
As for us getting screwed, if we win out, we're in, clearly. If we lose to FSU, unless it's super close, it's looking tough, as we probably won't have any elite wins (unless Stanford goes on to win the Pac-12 or something) If we beat FSU and lose to somebody else, it gets interesting.

There's two aspects to the debate.

1) Who did you lose to
2) Who did you beat

Their win over Michigan St. is a much much better win than 3 loss Stanford. I don't have a problem with them being ranked ahead of us for now.

Fair enough. However you could look at the Big10 also
And say their competition level is down this year as a whole and MSU is only good because of their inferior competition/conference. But I totally understand what you mean and appreciate that argument.

FYI Their 2nd best win (UCLA) is better than our best as well.
